A Correction.
To the Editor of The Herald:
The Saturday Issue of The Herald
stated that the power was off of the
cables of the Albany Power & Manu
facturing Company for about fifteen
minutes on Saturday motntng. This
Is evidently a mistake as the various
Industries to whom this company fur
nishes power, all of which operate
from the same transmission lines and
generator that furnishes power for the
city, operated ■ their plants without In
terruption at the time stated. There
fore the cause of the city being with
out water was some, trouble In tho
city plant. Respectfully,
E. S. KILLEBREW,
Supt. Albany Power & Mfg. Co. •
Mr. J. P. Norman, of Norinan Park,
Is here today.
Mr. and Mrs. 0. A. Armstrong, of
Amerlcus, are expected to arrive to
morrow. -They will stay over Military
Day. '
Mr. S. E. Pate, of Arabl, Is In town.
Mr. C. C. Preston, of Arab!, Is a
Chautauqua visitor In Albany.
Mr. James Lee came up from Cam
illa this morning.
Misses Addle and Lizzie Brannan, of
Arab!, are here for several days.
Messrs. R. A. and -R- L. Bedgood, of
Arabl, are among the Chautauqua vis
itors.
Editor's Note—The Herald did not
state that “the power was off of the
cables of the Albany Power & Manu
facturing Co. for about fifteen minutes
Saturday morning.” It did not Btate
that the power was off of the cableB
at all, though Supt. Wm. Lockett In
forms us today that the Instruments
at the wqter-works station showed
that as an actual, fact the power was
off at the time and for the space indi
cated. But as Supt. Klllebrew thinks
Tho Herald did Ills company an Injus

explanation, to allow him to correct a
statement which was never made.
