It was sad to look at. The Cordele
kids simply had on their batting
clothes. The slaughter was terrible.
It was an off day for Boyd, and surely
it was an on day for Lavender. The
folks In Cordele almost worship him—
and there’s h reason.
The game was too one-sided to be
Interesting. Still, we can’t win all.
The boys seemed to lose confidence
when Boyd was tapped so freely, and
dldnt play, up> to their usual standard.
| Snodgrass In left pulled In a pretty
one. Eldred hit a nice one to center
for two sacks. Beyond that there were
only four solitary hits for Albany. On
thfi other side the stick work was mag
nificently realistic and heart-breaking.
In the field Harper was the star.

It’s hard, hut we can swallow It.
"Meet me at the park tomorrow."
Harwood throws nicely to second.
Gee! But Alec fields first, all rtglft.
Snodgrass Is there—all right, all

Coller will probably pitch today.
Say, Lavender Is pretty fair for Cor
dele.
Eldred doesn’t mind taking difficult
chances.
Scott, on first for Cordele, has a
nice whip.
Eldred’s hit for two bags was some
thing else.
Cheer up, boys: It’s a long time till
the averages are made. f .....
Boyd was a little off. It happens to
the best of them sometimes.
It take’s ,a stout heart to win. Dee
pair never helped nny team.
McCormack's wing, did you say?
Correct, sit down. It’s all right.
The attendance yesterday was rath
er small on account of the threatening
aspect of the weather.
Richards 1b reported to be the crack
third baseman of the league, but he
didn't look It yesterday.
What Is a paper sport? One who
hates to lose even one game when Tie
had a little money on it.
Surely Osment Is a hitter. Fdur
times up and three three-baggers. He
Is a wonder with the stick.
A few of the chicken-hearted began
to knock yesterday. If you hear any
one doing It today, shut him up. It'll
be a persona! favor.
W'e’ll see who has the sporting
blood now. The talkers who can't do
anything hut support a winning team
must show themselves.
Dick Reed, a> former South Carolina
college player, has been released from
Columbus, at his own request. As an
amateur Reed played good "ball.
