This is about Stoves and Ranges.
• There arc various makes of good or better of
these indispensable kitchen utilities, but there is one
all-important point which the average person over
looks when making a selection. That point is this:
In the event of a broken, section, how easy will
it be to'replace it?
Under ordinary conditions, it is a question of
two or three weeks. It is a matter of great incon
venience, of heavy extra expense, and perhaps dis
appointment ip the.end.
You of course know something about the famous
“NATIONAL” Ranges and the incomparable “EN
TERPRISE” Stoves which we have been handling
to the exclusion of all others for several years.
But do you know that ours is the only firm in this
whole section which carries in stock a complete out
fit of duplicate parts for every “NATIONAL” Range
arid “ENTERPRISE” Stove that is manufactured?
If one of our customers telephones after break
fast that any part of her stove has met with an acci
dent, we are in position to repair the damage in time
for dinner to be prepared on time. And the repairing
is perfectly done by. men who have done practically
no other character of work in thirty years.
These are important points which will not be
overlooked by the level-headed and far-seeing house
keeper. Arid they explain in part why we are sell
ing hundreds of “ NATIONALS ” and “ ENTER*
PRISES” every year.

Recent scientific research has put Its
finger on the ''cause" of Dandruff, Fall

has unearthed a tiny germ which eats ,
the life from the roots of human hair.
Newbro’s Herplclde destroys this
germ and consequently restores the
hair to Its natural state.

Savannah, May 7.—What Is to be
the size of the net earnings qf the
Central of Georgia railway this year?
Is the question that financiers are be
ginning to ask.
Coupled to this is the query as to
whether or not the third preferred in
comes will get a dividend as they did
Iasi year. The fiscal year of the Cen
tral ends on June 30 and the report of
ho auditor to April 30 has been an
nounced. This' shows an Increase for
ten months of $1,040,169.89 over the
seme period of last year. It will be
recalled that last year all classes of
stockholders were paid dividends. It
essential and necessary that the
first preferred Income bondholders be
paid 5 per cent, before the holders of
Boconds and third can get a cent It
expected that with the Increased
gross earnings as shown the net earn
ings must have Increased also, and It
Is expected that all classes of security
holders of the Central will share in
the dividend pie once more. There Is
a strong demand for seconds and third
because of the report of the auditor
for the past ten months.
The temperature dropped a lot yes
terday and last night. Coal fires In
the grates were not an unusual sight
this morning.
This fair weather Is as welcome as
was the rain which marked the end of
that memorable three weeks' dry spell
at the close of April.

The bicyclist Is as glad as anybody

Mr. Harris on Closing the Stores.
Editor Herald:
The agreement signed several days
ago by the merchants was that we
would close our places of business at;
o'clock. It has for years been cus
tomary to close at this hour, and the
clerks and merchants are thereby giv
en time for a little rest and recreation
during the summer months. The clos-.
Ing hour is 6, not 7 p. nt„ and if all
the merchants would close their doors
promptly at the former hour shoppers
would become accustomed to the rule
nnd not wait till 7 to begin buying,
