Rambarger sac rificed and Snodgrass waded Into one of Hale's slow ones, and sent It over the fence. Of course, as a beginning, this was not bad, and the whole team kept It up: McCormack got five hits, Boyd three, and the rest of the team coming In for some.. Also, Cordele hammered for nine hits. The errors helped to make It high school ball, fit was ragged, but a lot better than a defeat The management of the Cordele club put In no less than three pitchers. Say, which was worst? They gave hits and bases on balls recklessly, and the Albany crowd took advantage of It recklessly, too. Of course Snodgrass was the herb. Not only did he swat It, but his work In left was good to see. Eldred played a nice game at second. Poole, the new man, showed up well. In fact, the whole team showed what sort of stuff Is In them. The trouble witlr Cordele was not with the pitchers, or the in field, or the outfield, hut with all three. It was a ragged exhibition. Already murmurings are heard In Cordele. Somebody will be . tin-canned, and that quick. Before the game started Scott remarked that they had to win. They didn’t, and so— Well, we did It, anyway. Third place for us now, and when the team comes home from Columbus we'll be higher. It’s a pleasant prospect, and not out of reach, either. Sixth Ipning. Poole walks and later steals second. Collier Bhowed nice head work yes terday. When a man would get to first the next man naturally tried to sacrifice. Instead of slinging It to Alec, though, the kid pitcher assisted to Harry at second, and forced the first man out. Have you stopped ^o think that we took this BerleB? The snn Is hard on the third base man, leftfielder and shortstop the way the Col-dele dinmond Is laid off. It will be harder to get odds on Cor dele now. Ham took one away from Valdosta Tuesday. A lot of hjts, runs and errors everywhere. By mutual consent of all Interested the game ended at tho end of tho eighth yesterday. The crowd left before the game was over. It was rather disappointing. j Who didn’t get a hit yesterday? Reagan, the man for whom Scott released Poole, Is nothing to rave over. Indeed, some are making odious comparisons. The fans wero so overjoyed at Snod grass's home run that a purBe of $12 was made up for him. •Timmy Collins, manager of the Bos ton Americans, says that If Scott could bat he'd be In a major league.
