By wire to Clark & Go, New Orleans, May 11, 1906. Judging from the steadiness of op tions in Llyerpool and in the absence of any definite news, the foreign mar ket seemed to be more favorably Im proved with the fact that at last some damage has been caused by the ex ceedingly cold weather that lately vis ited the belt Options lost 1 point from yesterday’s close, while spot sales amounted to 10,000 hales 4 points higher. Today’s session has furnished ample proof of the constant need of support to maintain, the new price levels achieved. No ono doubts but that manipulation has done Its best In the attempt to bring about a further en hancement In the price, but on every occasion, when this artificial aid Is withdrawn, even though it be momen tarily, the market sags seemingly in accordance with Its more natural bent. Reports continue to come In of dam age to growing crops by the recent unseasonable weather, hut they differ so widely In character that a certain tinge of personal Interest Is naturally assumed. It Is likely, however that consider able Injury has In reality been done, but reliable sources of Information arc of the opinion that with the advent of favorable weather, sickly plants' will be rejuvenated, and the delay that haB been occasioned will In all proba bility be regained.
