COTTON PICKINGS.
Furnished for Dally Herald Readers
by Clark & Co.
Liverpool bulls were all to the good
this morning. Sales of 15,000 bale's at
unchanged prices was a splendid
showing.
Liverpool reports her. stock of de
sirable grades being reduced at a
rapid rate, and soon buyers must buy
the lower grades or quit business.
We opened 3 up on the good show
ing abroad, and prices were steady.
Weld was again a big buyer In New
York. In New Orleans, Hayne set the
ring on fire by bidding 32 for 60,000
May. He did not get them.
Theodore Price's reports from
“Scotland Neclt,” N. C„ and “Owl
Hoot,” Miss., were all of the most
bullish character.
It Is not believed that Price “can
fool all the people all the time.”
The market might be described
a very tame affair.
The dope mills are running on short
i time for fear of regrinding the same
grist.
The general concensus legarding the
coming acreage report is 7 per cent.
Increase In acreage and the same In
‘ use of commercial fertilizers.
j The talk of squeezing May still goes
, on, but as usual “May” will have to
be squeezed In the dark.
The weather over the belt was fair
and pleasant, but not quite warm
enough.
The remnnnt of the old crop will un
doubtedly bring 11c In the country.
