CANTALUPES ARE
NOW DOING WELL.
Fields Planted Following Hall 8torm
Have Made Good Progress.
The cantaloupe fields that were
planted after the recent hall storm laid
them waste are in splendid condition.
The new plants have been up for
several days, and have been favored by
almost perfect conditions. At no time
have they suffered on account of lack
of moisture, nor has there been any
excess of rain. They are now growing
rapidly, and are In the best of condi
tion. The Indications are that they
will produce a large crop of excellent
fruit, though It will Inevitably be a lit-
Ite later than the fruit from fields not
interrupted from the time of planting.
However, the prospect Is a great deal
brighter than was dreamed of when
the full extent of the damage wrought
by the hall 3torm was realized.
