Has, By Mutual Consent, Been Dissolved. r.l. j ones, senior member of tbe firm, and others have purchased the interests of L. J. and P. B. Hof- mayer in the retail business, and Messrs. Hofmayer have purchased Mr. Jones’ interest in the wholesale business. The retail and the wholesale business will he entirely separate in ownership and management in the future. The retail business and the wholesale millinery business and kindred lines will he continued at the big ’Washing ton street department store under the firm name of ' n 1 Jones & Company. R. L. Jones, the senior member of the firm of Hofmayer, Jones fe? Co., will have entire management and control of the retail store and wholesale millinery business, which will he conducted on even greater and more metropolitan lines. Mr. Jones s natural inclinations and long experience peculiarly fit him for the retail depart ment store, of which he is now in full charge. The dissolution of the firm of Hofmayer, Jones & Co. was due to the large growth of both the retail and £??.. wholesale departments, which made it difficult for both businesses to he conducted advantageously under the same ownership and management. ' $' j(, , The new firm finds it necessary, m order to reduce the present enormous stocks—the greatest the store has ever had—and to raise at once the large amount of cash required for the purchase of the Hof mayer interests, to have A GREAT DISSOLUTION SALE BEGINNING- Monday, May 21, at 10 A.
