New York, May 21.—The continu ance of the favorable weather brings the trade to a full realization of the absurdity of the unfavorable crop statements that have been circulated for the past two weeks. There never has been any justification for such re ports, and as we approach the time when the June government report shall be issued, the people who were re sponsible for the promulgation of them find that there is not a market for the .cotton which they accumulated In the moments of their apparent enthusiasm. It 1b not to be denied that the bull party has sold cotton at favorable op portunities, but there has never been one favorable enough to enable them to liquidate their holdings and get out a line of shorts, which somo believe was tholr original intention. There are some hedges coming on the market against early sales by producers, hut one should bo cautlouq and not sell the market on its weak spots for some time to come. When'll Is hid up for effect, conservative sales seem justi fied. » FREEMAN. Weather Forecast.
