New York, May 28. — Tomorrow I hope to give all of our friends a thor ough forecast of the acreage and crop conditions. So far as I can see, there is nothing to justify the low estimates of acreage or low vitality of the plant. No one can forecast what the charac ter of the government report will be on the 4th proximo. The department has been stirred up and should cor rect its absurdly low acreage figures of last year, and unless it does the department will be discredited for the entire season. There Is nothing to sav about the market for the time being. It is steady through the indifi’erence of operators, and when we shall have determined the truths effecting the situation as a whole, I look for con siderable activity. C. D.
