THE ALBANY DAILY HERALD, SATURDAY, JUNE 2, 1906. Successors to R. L. JONES & COMPANY. Successors to Hofmayer, Jones & Co, Hofmayer, Jones & Co. Today winds up the second week'of the dissolution sale of the magnificent Hofmayer, Jones & Co. spring and What a week it has been! What a week of sales and savings. summer stock, People who visited the store during the hrst days ot the sale have daily returned, alter studying the values they bought, to buy again and to profit by an even larger share of the savings, offered. And that is just the way with the dissolution sale bargains. The more one studies them the more satisfied one become. Most of our customers this week were delighted customers of the week before who returned to shop leisurely and make the most of the sale’s saying power. In regard to the savings—the prices, to be real definite—there is one point that is worthy of special emphasis here. The big reductions have been made on the H., J. & Co. prices, not on the prices charged by other stores. With H., J. \ & Co.’s splendid buying facilities, combined with a knowledge of market conditions that came from intimate connections with foreign and domestic manufacturing and jobbing centers, this store has had a decided advantage in buying over any other store in this section. The magnificent stock which is offered at the rediculously low prices of the dissolution sale was bought most advantageously and was originally priced with unusual reasonableness. These prices, reduced an f average of one-third, are the prices that make the dissolution sale values really matchless anywhere. Many of the very goods which we are offering will cost us more than we are charging for them when we re-buy for our next season’s stock. All Trimmed Hats Cut SO Per Cent, and More We haven’t had much to say about the splendid. Millinery values yet, but many have found their way into this department and have been richly repaid for their trouble. The reasonable prices that have pre vailed throughout the season in the Millinery De partment have" been recognized by'all. During the Dissolution Sale the prices of all our Trimmed and Walking Hats, the Phipps, the Gage and many ex quisite and exclusive creations from our own work rooms will be 50 per cent., and lessj of their former prices. This means a $5 hat for $2.50, a $10 hat foi ls, a $15 hat for $7.50, a $20 hat for $10. Only 14 of Those Beautiful Silk Suits Left 'Plunk of it ! Of all that great line of Silk Suits, barely more than twelve left. Only four of these are the Coat Suits, and ten arc Shirtwaist Suits. If we . happen to have your size, the opportunity for a sub stantial saving is too great to be ignored. The way they went tells the story of their values at Dissolu tion Sale prices. And, by the way, only twenty of those Linen Suits, so popular for midsummer wear,- remain. Less than a half score of .the finer Skirts, cut from $12.50 to $8.75, and from $17.50 to $12.00, are left. But of Waists there is a seemingly inex haustible supply. All the sales of the two weeks still leave the stock with satis factory a s sort m cuts of styles and sizes. Many of the beautiful Lingerie Waists are in the lot. Another Up-Stairs Item On the second floor you will find a manufacturers’ sample line of Baby Caps and Children’s Summer Hats. There is a varied assortment of Caps for In fants of all ages. They were marked originally at manufacturer’s cost, but they have not escaped the price slashing. Be sure to look them over. Odd Pieces of Dec orated China Please remember, too, that this sale is far differ ent from the average special sale, in which only a few lines are offered. Every article in our immense stock, save the few, which manufacturers’ contracts forbid us to reduce, has ! been cut in price, and deeply cut, too. W e have spent hundreds of dollars advertising the thousands of splendid offerings. But there is a limit, even to our generous advertising allowance, and we are able only to give you a faint idea of all the rich store that awaits you. Even the big circu lar— which, by the way, we are again having dis tributed for you to look over — was not an attempt to list the bargains. It simply gives a few examples from the full and varied stocks. Nor have we display space in our roomy store.. to show one-tenth of the great values. The shelves, under the counters, the back rooms packed with re serve stock, are fairly crowded with bargains just as enticing as those which cover the treasure tables in the aisles. Don’t go away and think that we have ’done our best by you if you have bought only from the displayed goods. Study your wants. Find what your peeds are, and if you fail to see what you want, ask for it. If it is usually kept in a department store, we are reasonably sure to have it. , There are lots of other, interesting and impor-. tant things that we ought to teli you about the sale7 but we’ll have to save them for another time. We’ll only add another invitation to come to the store next week and make the most out of this one. Exquisite Laces and Embroideries at Sale Prices Laces and Embroideries probably reached the zenith of their popularity this season. They have never been so much in vogue in the past, and they could not be more popular in the future. The H., J. & Co. stock of Laces and Embroideries fully reflects the importance of laces and embroideries this season. It was never so large, so elegant or so carefully selected. It embraces all the standard patterns of laces and many of the newest creations of the season. Of special interest is our specially large and beautiful line of Round Thread Val. Laces, now more popular than ever. In Embroi deries, so many beautiful things are offered that it is impossible to attempt enumeration. Swiss and Nainsook Embroideries are shown in Edgings, Insertings, Leadings, and All-overs; Matched Sets are here in profusion, while the line contains an elegant assortment of that acme of exquisite embroi dery production — the beautiful Baby Irish. The price cuts on these goods are just as deep as in other departments of the store.- The character of this stock is well known to the people of Albany, and when it is remembered that this stock was bought before the recent 25 per cent, advance and marked originally at old prices, the reductions will be all the more appealing. In this connection we might call special attention to our line of Semi-Ready Embroidered Robes, which have been reduced from $25 to $15.20; from $20 to $14.50; from $12.50 to $8.90. A $3,000 Stock of Lace Curtains at Cut Prices You wouldn’t expect to find such a stock of Lace Curtains in a city of less than 100,000. Think of having $3,000 worth left after two weeks of the Dissolution Sale. That in itself tells of the size, the variety and the elegance of these stocks. If you are not well supplied,, here’s really a big chance. Every home needs a few more pairs when they can be bought at thVs'fee slashed prices.
