The feeling in Liverpool, according to some cables, still remains bullish, but with more especial reference to the summer months anil when consid eration Is taken of the large volume of business done In spot cotton from day to day, it appears as though the foreign sentiment Is well grounded. Today’s sales amounted to 10,000 bales at an advance of 7 points, while op tions recorded a gain of 1 point on near positions and } point loss on dis tant months. Tho continued but spasmodic liqui dation ot July alone prevents the mar ket from lapsing into an almost com plete state of stagnation. The trade Is attentive, but with little concern regarding the outgrowing of this po sition and with it finally closed a bet ter speculative basis with regards to new crop months will In all probabil ity have been established. Rains have at last fallen In Texas and while they have not occurred in those districts moBt affected by the drought they have nevertheless been effective in lessen ing the uneasiness which the hot dry weather lins caused. More than light precipitations are needed, however, nfter such a pro longed dry spell to offset the high temporntures that extend all over the great Slate. Our advices from the in terlor convoy tho impression that crop prospects on tile whole continue good and that tho plant is generally in an excellent state of cultivation. In'some localities, however, In the Atlantic states, somo slight deterioration is ob served owing to a little too much moisture and to the prevalence of the grass in fields. /Yours very truly, GIBERT & CLAY. BleBBed sunshine Is the farmers' cry. Liverpool responded nobly to onr advance of yesterday. Futures were 4 up on sales of 10,000 bales at 7 points advance. Continued heavy Bales In England denote a lasting demand. New York and New Orleans felt the weight of selling orders on the open ing and eaBed off a few points. The Texas crop has undoubtedly de teriorated since the last report, and the condition In the "land of hot winds, boll weevil, drought and all the Ills that beset the plant, may nipt he over 82 on July 3. \ The market must rehabilitate itBelf before the public will care much about It. i The light at the moment Is between the farmer and the . grass which threatens the safety of the plant \ Excursion Rates Fourth of July. 1 Central of Georgia Railway will sell excursion tickets between all points south of the Ohio and Potomac ami east of the Mississippi river, Including St Louis, Mo., at one and one-third fares, round-trip, on July 2, 3 and 4,' limited for return until July 8, 1906. Albany will be visited by fire and earthquake next Monday, June 25. The first shock will take place at the Rawlins Theatre at 2 o’clock sharp. Manager Gortatowsky is to be con gratulated upon having secured as an attraction at his house the original motion pictures and stereo-panoramic views of the greatest disaster known in the history of the world, which on Atfrll 18 destroyed The beautiful city of San Francisco. Manager Louis W. Buckley, who presents these pictures, is well known in theatrical and amusement circles as a man who has never been < con nected with anything except the best. He will bo remembered as having con ducted tho recent southern tour of Madame Sarah Bernhardt, and has for years been the general representative of tho -Pain’s Spectacle and fireworks show, and is of the Thearle-Buckley Show, with offices on Broadway. Col. Buckley vouches for these pictures being the genuine films, and states positively that they were the first ones taken after the earthquake shock and are the only ones showing the fire actually In progress. The per formance will last two and one-half hours and 1 lii addition to these wonder ful pictures will consist of several high-class vaudeville specialties, head ed by the dainty and petite little ex ponent of physical culture, ‘‘La Car* montella” in her own creation en titled “The Poetry of Motion.” A Matinee will be given at 2 o’clock and the following scale of prices will prevail: OF TO THE SAFETY YOUR MONEY! a de- more forms From this standpoint, isn’t posit with us, bearing interest, satisfactory than some other of investment which seemingly prom ise big returns, but which are uncer tain and risky?
