(By Wire to Clark & Go.) New York, June 25, 1900. Today we are at the beginning of the culmination of the liquidation of July and with it premiums for the new crop are being established and the selling position more secure. While July was at an abnormal premium over the new crop it was only natural that October and December should not decline, but from now on with the continuation of fine cron prospects we are likely to drift to lower p'lces. The July-August manipulation In Liverpool might, succeed, so might the July in New Orleans, but the grounds for their success are purely technical and do not reflect merit on the eco nomic conditions. The new crop posi tions must be judged and valued by themselves. Lower prices seem immi nent, but a seller must have patience and be prepared to cover if the entire belt he affected by drought in July and August. Yours truly, C. D. FREEMAN & CO. COTTON PICKINGS. Late reports from the continental trade centers are not as encouraging as we would wish. Based on the “great law of average” the crop might, be said to he doing well.
