New Orleans, June 27, 1906. The Liverpool market was some what disappointing in its earlier ses sion, due to the fact that there ,was considerable selling in a spasmodic way of the July position. Options im-‘ proved slightly, however, later lir the day and closed 2 points higher than yesterday, while spot sales amounted to 5,000 bales at a loss of 3 points. Today the first notice day for July delivery witnessed exceedingly few tenders in circulation and nervous shorts immediately shoved prices up on themselves by extensive covering. During the process of liquidation through which the July position is now passing interest in the new crop months has considerably waned, and the values of these pdSitions have been allowed to follow the upward tendency of the market; nevertheless, these dis tant options are dally becoming more vulnerable and more susceptible to at tack owing to the utmost ideal weather l conditions now affecting the crop. I It is the growing belief that the re- j cent drouth was not sufficiently pro longed to do any material damage and I the advent of rains where needed came at a most opportune moment, the fields previous to the arrival of moisture having been put in the best possible shape. With such prospects in view it will be difficult to sustain advances unless the l&ng-looked-for crop scare should materialize. GIBERT & CLAY. Sales, 5,000, at 6.11. Manchester spinners evidently pre fer to play a waiting game. They have been surfeited on "bear news." Continued light sales in Liverpool are a bit discouraging to bulls. Changes are few and far between. The opening was unchanged. Concensus ot opinion regarding July condition report is S4, which will not be bullish or bearish. The market is as artificial as a chorus girl's complexion. What the market needs just now Is a leader with Sully’s nerve and luck. The drouth in Western Texas has been thoroughly broken.
