He takes charge of a school at Ty¬

A very large crowd attended
the sacramental services at the
Ball Ground, last Sunday, conduc¬
ted by parsons Ellis and Lackey.
The race for senator in Murray,
has at last, it seems, narrowed
down to Col. J A McKatny, without
opposition. The Col. will surely
be elected.
The primary election iu the town
district Monday for Senator went
89 solid for Ool. J A McKamy,
there being no other candidate.
W J Johnson and W H Steed were
selected as delegates.
The lecture of Mr. W D Petty,
in town, a few Sundays ago, has
been considerably commented up
on as being full of instruction and
solid thought, aud highly enter¬
taining to those who had the pleas¬
ure of hearing it.
A portion of a deck of cards was
found in the grave yard a few days
ago. This almost demonstrates
the saying that a ‘’confirmed gam¬
bler will play cards on his mother’s
coffin or wager money at his fath¬
er's funeral.

Mr, Drew Peeples, formerly of

Little Carrie Harris aged eleven
years died last Tuesday at Gohut
tah Springs, where her ma had
taken her as the last effort to re¬
store health. But, alas! cruel death
claimed her as his own. Sweet
little Carrie, how we will miss her
in the schoolroom, in the Sabbath
school, and in the social circle. She
leaves many friends and relatives
besides the family to mourn her
