VARIOUS SOURCES.
Misunderstood—A Faithful FVI"-j<

As., as teeend class matter.
A Suggestion,
For the Couelderatiun ol the Sub-Allian¬
ces of Murray County.
While casting around and
thinking abont matter* and things
porta mug to the good of th® A1
lianco in our county, it occurred
to “yonrt* truly” to Mrite a me
tb|ug like the following: In order
to stimulate and atxu-.e renewed
energy and interest in Alliance
work 1 move— (if I can get a sec
oud) that arrangements be made,
by mutual consent, of each sub
alliance in the county, to have
the meetings of the county alliance
held with the sub-alliancos, iu
rotation, tho same to go into effect
at »s early a day as can be satis
factorial ly arranged,
Let the first such meeting be
held with May Hill Alliance, and
wo will have Bro H C Brown pres¬
ent to make a big speech, aj he
has already agreed to come on ton
or twelve days notice.
Let there be ample provisions
for a basket dinner, and let every
body be invited to bring well
liiled baskets and to listen* at and
enjoy the speaking as well as
help eat and erjoy the dinner.
But latthe’work of the business
session be .as usual—in secret.
Thus variety will obtain, and the
people generally will likely be¬
come more} interested as well as
give new impetus to the order. I
notice that other county Allian¬
ces porsue tho course above out
linediand mako it quite successful
as well as interesting. Why not
Murray do the same? Thus dele¬
gates and their horscB will not have
to do without! dinner until they
get home at night, we iry and liun
gry.
Since jirepuring the above, I
iiave received and read the Tocooa
News, which contains the following,
which, to my mind, is worthy
imitation; "The members of the
Mud Creek alliance entertained tho
delegates in a royal manner; hos¬
pitably receiving them into their
homes at night and provi ling a
most bonnteouB basket dinner at
tho place where the meeting was
held. Tho fair hands of the ladies
furnished choice beef, delicious
1mm, delicate fowl, rich biscuits,
oake, pies, and custards ot various
kinds in g eat. abundance, and the
way thoso delegates devoured the
delicious viands was a sight to be¬
hold, and was a tribule to the cn
linary skill of tho wives and dangh
ters of the farmers cf' Mud Crei k,
ot which tneir husbands, fathers,
brotheis and sweethearts maj
well be proud.”
Now, who wiil second the ruo
tioi ? The motion being seconded,
and stated by the chair, debating
is in order.
Are you ready for the question?
I am inobt sincerely venrs truly,
B. F. Bright.
