—The entertainment at Marlin’s

gest to the ladies that many persons
stay away from these places, not that
they aro unwilling to assist, but be
cause they would liko to judge for
themselves how much they ore all-
to spend, ’lhe wise need only a

piercing rays of king Sol Hashed into

State Agrcultural Society.
Iu our lust issue we noted the fact
that the Georgia Agricultural Society
would meet in this city in February.
Au invitation was extended to them
during the mayoralty of Dr. J. J.
Harris, but for some reason they could
not accept. A large number of them
have ever since that time cherished a
hope of meeting here at an early day.
An invitation therefore having been
extended to them at their meeting in
Dalton, recently, by our City Fathers
through Mr. J. M. Cooper, au enthu*
siastio acceptance was the result.
There was scarcely a dissenting voice.
We see much good po result from this
matter. It will be remembered that
this Society represents the very bone
mid sinew of our beloved State.
They ore indeed the representative

These men aye thoroughly awake to
the importance of direct shipment >a-

bor—an outlet where they can reach
the ocean direct. We have just that
place, nnd now offer it to them. They
are coming to see it. If it tills the

lift up your heads, desponding ones,
fresh courage take, for we talk no
idle dream—’tis atitrigible proposi

The Key of the Qulf (Key West,

the lovers of temperance. It says the
young folks spent the day in danejng
