Datt.1t Communication With Flor ida —We hear it rumored that ar rangements have been made with the Bteamer Olyphant to ply daily between this city and Fernandina, thus closely connecting our R. R. lines with the Florida & Cedar Keys line, and offer ing to the traveling public a pleasant and varied trip to the “land of flow ers. Numbers prefer land travel from the fact that they object seriously to the treatment received from Mother Ocean. This route would give them a short trip by water, by way of vary ing the monotony of railroad travel, and an opportunity to snuff the sea air, and at the same time keep out of reach of old Neptune. Consolidated Depot.—Messrs. Lit. tlefield & Tyson, successors to S. C. Littlefield & Co., have commenced work on ihe new R. E. depot, and ware, house, and will push forward the work with vigor. A two story front will be put on the present warehouse, on Dart’s wharf, for offices, passenger rooms, etc., besides other and larger accommodations for freight, local and otherwise. this will be a good move in many respects, but we still hold that it is an abandonment of the original project of a deep water terminus.
