The Quitman Free Press says:
"Quite u CiValcade, consisting ol
wagons, buggies, horses, peo; le, etc.,
passedtlirough Quitman on Tuesday
last en route for Florida. The mov
ers, we leurned, were from Bartow
county, near Cartersville. They all
looked happy and seemed to think
they were going to the promised laud.
We aie afraid they will not tind all
they hope for in Floridu. They have
left u beautiful country, and the
only complaint they make against it
is the scarcity o. labor. We very

Buys the Sandertville Mercury:
“There is on the southwest side of
Sandersville millions of lime beg-
ging utility. Commencing about
one mile from the court house und
extending about two miles southwest
is an inexhausiubfe quantity of'the
finest lime rock we ever saw. The
great variety of shell, bones, teeth
uud other formation found in these
lime beds make a complete museum.
Borne of our oldest oitizens, who were
born and reared in this immediate
neighboihood, often spent a whole
day in looking at the curiosities to be
found on the brauchea, in the caves
and gullies among these vast beds ol
rich .lime. Why come enterprising
citizens do not make a fortune out of
this lime is a mys'ary to us.
The Rome Bulletin of Tuesday

Magnolia on its return trip to Rome

of the boat discovered a corpse lyihg

boat saw it. It was the corpse of a
white ma , The boat was unable to
stop and rescue it. Upon its arrival
at Rome however, the discovery was
made known, and several of the
friends of Mr. Dick Griffeth suppos

was feund. As soon as possible Mr
Williams aud other friends of the
missing man, got into a bateau and
weut down the river to rescue the
corpse. At this writing, 3 o’clock

the body has juat been brought to
Rome in a wagon. It is the body
of poor Dick Griffeth. It will be
