April 13.—To t ho people ol Georgia,
By unanimous vote of tbo state dem*
ooratic convention, recently held,
the lion. Hemy D. McDaniel of (lie
county of Walton, was presented to
yon as A candidate in everr way wor
thy of the highest oflice within your
gift. The deliberations or the con
vention, continuing through two
days, were characterized by excep
tional concord and good fellowship,
and it is confidently hoped that the
choice made will be rati fit d by you at
the polls with entire unanimity.
In accordance with the pioclama—
tion of the governor the ebetion will
he on Tuesday, the ‘-14th day of ill's
month. It does not now appear that
there will be an opposing candidate,
hut it is nevertheless most important
that a full vote e hen Id bee polled.
This is necessary to keep well tage til
er the party organization, for we can
not foretell how seon every domocrat-
ic vote may be needed. The object
of this communication is to urge
that the polls be opened at every
precinct in the state and that as
large a vote as possible be polled.
The state ecexutive committc urges
upon all local committees, county
tod driver held ' • ribbons.
The hovs-s look' d as il a .ittle
rest would hen;fit them. After tak
ing in several slreets they lvft, tak
ing the Jasper rood.
Wei am that a good deal of anxi
ety was felt by the owner of the
“turn out.” So telephones, messages
ane messengers were brim;lit to
brar. Tuesday they passed on
their return, taking tbo Marietta
road. The puled team bad improv

cupants of the phaeton, we are in
