pone of election delegates to the t’onyeti-
tion which meets in Atlanta on the 18th
of this month to elect rtelegntos to rep
resent Georgia in the National ( 'inven
tion whi 'h meets in thieftgo 8th of July
next to nominate a President and \ lee
President; the convention which meets
In Atlanta August 13th to nominate Gov
ernor and State homo officers; and the
convention to nominate candidates tor
Conercss from the Ninth fougnssional
district—the time and niece not vet fixed.
The meeting was called to order l>y \> ■ H.
Perkinson chairman of the county exec
utive committee and object staled as
above. On motion W. II. Perkinson was
elected Chairman, and Hen. 1. Perry,
Secretary of this meeting. I'he chairman
announced ready to receive nominations
for the meeting in Atlanta on June tHth;
Judge Jas. It. Brown and lion. tv. A.
Teastev were elected delegates and ( ol.
j J. A. Sharp, and t'apt. Jno. B. ltieh-
ards, alternates. Next came selection of
delegates t<* the Gubernatorial Conven
tion which meets in Atlanta August 13 th:
Capt. H. W. Newman nml VV. J. VS ebb,
were eleeted delegates, and M. A. Kci.li
and Col. C. I). Maddox, alternates. To
the Congressional convent In, (the time
and place of meeting not yet llxed),
Capt. VV. H. Perkinson and Hen. 1\ Perry
were elected delegates, anp Capt. T. N.
Delanev and Geo. I. Teasley, alternates.
The delegates and alternates elected to
the Presidential convention are favora
ble to the old ticket. A standing vote ta
ken in the meeting was unanimously in
favor of Tilden and Hendricks. 1’hu
county is almost a unit for w iping <mt
the great and disgraceful fraud of 1#7<1.
Capt. Newman introduced the following
Resolution which was unanimously
adopted: Resolved—“That while wo do
not instruct our delegates we are in favor
of the old ticket, Tilden and Hendricks,
whose nomination will insure us success
iti November next.” No expression of
the meeting was given ns regards the
C roltable candidature of any State
©use officials or representatives, it
was the Bcnse of this meeting that the
delegates elect should favor the majoiity
rule. The following resolutions weio
offered and adopted as the sense of this
meeting; , ,
Resolved:—That the delegates elect
oppose the appointment of proxies from
auothvr county.
Resolved—That the sense of
this meeting is that the delegates and
alternates only he allowed on the floor
of either convention and that no more
delegates nor alternates he elected than
the county Is entitled votes in cither con
vention.
On motion the meeting then
adjourned after having enjoyed quite a
nleasiuit and harmonious meeting. Our
time and space forbids a fuller report.
