Mr. Hendricks, iH without doubt,
the most jiopulur man with Ilia par

and conoidoration for the feeling* of
others. In his social relations, he is
not at all hypocritical or pretentious
but be is a cultured and rotiued gen

IKiliticial unhides will readily ackno

large, ohl-feshonod bouse which is
seldom fiwr from the presence of
friend* and acquaintances.
Mis. Headricks is a hoe-looking
lady, about fifty years old, neither
small of stature, with dark hair aud
eyee. She wear nan eye-glaas, whioli
gives her something of a distingue
appearance, and diesaes richly but
plainly. She is a brilliant oonverea-

For many years she has devoted
much attention to charitable matters,
and for four yeara wae one of the
board of trustees appointed by the
republican governor of the state in

While President of the board a leg

that its affairs had been managed

who wae named for the same place
with Tildein iu 187U. His biography

the Convention and unawimously
nominated. He wae a candidate for
the first place in 1878, but then,

Governor Hendrick* has many
admirers among the Boui tmue, espe

Mr#. Hendrick# is hi* confidential
