From away up in the
North Georgia, the news has tiavoled
down to us that Judge W. M. Sessions,
of Marietta, will be a candidate before
the ncx
Judge of
ing that i
era than fiis could the responsibilities
and duties of the Judgeship ho placed,
we in common with his numberless
friends in this, the wineglass section of
tlie state express our best wishes for the
success uf Ins candidacy, There in scarce
ly a man, woman or child within the
reach of the News and signal t ut what
cither knows or has heard of Judge Ses
sions, and none know him but to love
him.
For eleven long years, and some of them
were troublous years, he presided over
the courts of the Brunswick circuit, and
ably, faithfully and impartially did he
discharge the delicate trust reposed in
him. His conduct was su> h as to endetu
him to the hearts of all. and to win for
EX him the respect and esteem, and the un
dying admiration of all lovers ef truth
aiid justice,
Ulackslicar is still proud to know that,
he was once her son, and has never ceas
ed to regret that he decided to choose
another home than this. When he left
us he took with him the fond wishes and
the hearty good will of this entire peo
ple, and they have constantly looked
orward to the time when his worth and
ability would lie fully recognised among
his new friends. He has now been witli
them long enough for them to know him,
and this firings him forward for an
office he is so well qualified by nature and
training to occupy, is nothing more than
he deserves.
In these days of political degeneracy,
when bribery stalks rampant through
the land, and corruption floats u|>on every
breeze, the people must turn for safety
to the tnen who have in them the breath
of honesty. Such a man is Judge Ses
sions; honest as the day is long, pure
and spotless in character; an able jurist
and a christain gentleman; incorrupt
ami Incorruptible, lie is of the sort, to
wear our judical ermines, aud guard the
bulwarks of our liberties.
We wish him God speed in tke coming
coutest not only because we love Lira,
hut because we know- that in his hands
the honor of our stato is safe. We can
assure him a rousing vote from South
Georgia.—lllackshear (Ga.) News and
Signal.
The above deserved tribute to fellow-
townsman, Judge Wm. M. Sessions, will
be iearl with pleasure by his many
friends in this place and the county.
That he will devolope considerable
strength for the position of Judge of the
Blue Ridge circuit in lower Georgi;. is
one of the facts that will become more
prominent at the time the Legislature
meets. He has active friends iu North
Georgia also who will rallyto his stair
and by all honorable menna eudei
to elect him to the position he aspire]
fill. Judge Sessions stands high
esteem of our people, and it is not a
question whether he would make a cap
able and efficient Judge, for that has
been tried long ago and lie proved equal
to the duties devolving upon him and
f pive eminent satisfaction in all his rul-
ngs in (lie adjudication of all legal ques
tions that came before him. Fail mind
ed and clear-headed, with a character
for integrity unassaileil and unassaila
ble, if elected, the people will have in
him a Judge that will hold the scales of
justicu evenly mid wear the* judical er».
mine with d’gnity and credit. We say
this much with feeling of siueerest
friendship for a man who has proven
himself worthy of every confidence im
posed in him.—Marietta Journal.
Since our aequantanee with Judge
Sessions wo have found him to be a
thorough geutleinaii in its true sense,
an able lawyer and a fine Judge of law.
His election us Judge of the liiue Ridge
Circuit would, so far as wc know, give
general satisfaction, as the people would
he given a gentleman thoroughly quali.
lied, fair and impartial.
