ALL EX I). CANDLER,
Of Hall.
The state election in Ohio 1ms

Democratic majo ity.
Judge Kennedy ramling, form
erly of t'umiuing. and for a number
of years a citize of Forsyth cou ty
departed tyis lift* in, on tlie 2bth of
Septcmlter.
The l.awrenceville Herald sjieaU-
ing of tin* election in Gwinnett says ]
that “One vote was cast for Joseph
K. Brown for Governor. r l hut tnan
must lie of kin to the old Democrat
iu middle Georgia, who lias voted
for Joe Brown at every election
since 1857. This reminds tis that
one vote was cast in this county for
Judge Jas. R. Brown for Governor
and one vote for no Governor at all.
The recent race for Representa
tive in this county, lietweon lion.
AV. A. Tensley, Cupt. \V. II. IVrk-
inson, Jno. K. Moore Esq, and Col.
Jno. I). Attaway, was, in the lust
days -of the race, hotly contested.
The ambitious aspirants were out
canvassing and s|mech making pret
ty much all the time and each visi
ted every district in the conn y, ex
cept Cupt. Perkinson who on ac
count of sickness in his family did
not canvass five of the districts ol
the county. This nice is now over
and ('ol. Tensley was elected by 2U
majority over Capt. Perkinson, 52
majority over Jno. K. Moore Esq.
ana 437 majority over (’ol. Attaway
After continued and persistent ap
peals all the candidates except Col.
Teasley expressed themselves favor
able Jo the re-election of Judge Jas K
Brown as Judge of the Blue Ridge
Circuit. We have never heard an
expression from (ol. Teasley on
this matter and we trust lie too fa
vors his re-election. His reticence
on this particular question leads us
to fear he will not support Judge
Brown for re-election. Whether or
not he favors Judge Brown for re-
election and will or will not vote for
him it is certain that a majority of
this county, and a large majority at
that, want him re-elected, and tlint
unless Col. Teasley votes for his
re-election he will certainly not rej -
resent Cherokee in this particular
matter. He has been elected to rep
resent the wishes of Cherokee as
far as practicable and not his own
personal views and opinions. We
can see no reason why any man
should oppose the re-election of
Judge Brown, much less a man of
his own county. Judge B own has
made an able, just, impartial Judge
and bus discharged his whole duty.
If Judge Brown is not re-elected
this county and the Blue Ridge Cir
cuit will not lie as well pleused as
if he had been, although Judge Ses
sions may be elected, he lsting the
only opposition at present. The
election for Judges and Solicitor-
Generals will occur alxiut the 15th
of November and if we do not learn
before we will then know to a
certainty who will be Judge and
.Solicitor-Generalof this Circuit and
who favored their re-election by a
vote. We apprehei d and confi
dently predict that Judge
Jas. R. Brown and Col. Geo. K.
Goiter will be triumphantly re-elec
ted Judge and Solid tor-l lone ral of
this Circuit. This is not only our
desire but the wi.-hes of Cherokee
county and «he Blue Kidge ( ircuit.
We confidently believe they will be
fulfilled.
Carter*vilie will take on a big
