give you a short account of what
we saw, but 1 must beg you not “to
view my tlrst attempt wifli a critics
eye.” At 9 o'clock a. m. on Decem

ous with excitement, boarded the
train at Canton en route for New
Orleans to visit the Exposition, for
a month we had thought aud talk-1 veyor; and M. Itagwell Coroner. Ali
sissippi—or riding in a steam boat
was quite novel and delightful to a
country school girl. A great many
nationalities ara represented in New
< h'leans; I heard at least a dozen
different languages spoken. In
this manner the week passed quick
ly and on Friday night at eleven
o’clock we bade farewell to the Cres
ent City and on Saturday night
found oursehea once more on the
rugged hihs of Georgia.

Last Sunday night a cyclone

Last Sunday night a heavy rain
fell aceoinpauiod by heavy peals of

favorable to a cyclone aud many ot
our citizens became alarmed aud
seriously thought #f their pits, but
iu a short while all passed aver
without doing any damage to per

our experience was an exception

At 53o’clock p. ni. we took the limi

hours were in New Orleans, a weary
and travel-stained group but ready
for sighUsceing after a hearty break

the strike did not interfere with us.
Wc spent three days on the Exposi

the States. '1 he space allotted t»

but the Exposition is an inexhaus-

we saw them making silver dollars
