Note* on the Frees Trip.
We said laet wee* that the recent an
nual meeting of the Georgia Weekly
Pnsi Association in Dublin and chn trip
to Tybee was the most thoroughly eti -
joyed of any short outing the wetkly
press of Georgia ever made. And so it
was, from start to finish! From the
timo we landed in Dublin until the party
disbanded at Tybee, it was a round ot
ovations snd kind attentions never ex
celled by any people. But, to the people
of Dublin the largest share of all praise
aud credit is due. Each citizen anil
family of the plaoe seemod to vie witL
each other iu attentious to thu "press
gang,” who were assigned to the homes
of tbe people and so elegantly enter
tained without obarg* therefor. It. was
the common expression ot each one IImt
the home to whioh he or she was as
signed was the beat, but, let others *ay
what they may, we know no one tin t a
more delightful homo and charming host
and hostess than we did witli Mr. and
Mrs. J. M. Klun and their lovely guest,
Miss Mabel Hughes, of Alabama, and
the borne also of tho lady members of
our party with Mr. and Mrs. K J Black-
shear. Judge Les'er ami Congressman

Dublin is a town with a great future.
It is really Ibe most enterprising aud
progressive little city of some II Mm pop
ulation that we know any where. We
believe it was said hy some one that
there is now nuder oontract and in eon
atruation in the place 200 or more build
ings. We may l>e mistaken iu that state
ment, but w# make no mistake in say-
iug there is more building now going on
there now and more uew buildings just
completed than any place of its size wu
have ever visited, and yet Dublin does
nut cluini to be on a Imnm, only steadily
doubling its population. It is one of
the best towns in that part of Georgia,
and has au exceedingly bright future,
fhern are several manufacturing enter
prises aud others anon to be located
there, ita business houses aud volume
of business favorably compares with any
city of 5,000 or more inhabitants, and
ita two banks aff »rd bankiug capital and
facilities equal to the growing needs of
the plaoe. Tbe towu bat waterworks
and eleotrio lights, two railroads and
splendid steam lust service on the Oco
nee river. Oue of the distinguishing
features of Dubliu is its doz m or more
artesiau wells and a general salubrious-
ness and heallbfulneiit of climate that
gives to it a healthful toue. Tho county
coin t house is a splendid ♦:’7,o,io struct
ure, niagnilioeuliy appointed throughout,
amt tvitleunos the thrift and progressive
spirit of the people of Laurens couuly.
Not the least oft he many good things
possessed by Dublin are the two live, up-
to-date weekly papers that tier citiren-
heartily support, tbe Dispatch, edited
by Atys P. Hilton, and tbe Courier by
H. M. aud V. L. .-Stanley. They are ably
leading iu the upbuilding of Dublin and
of Laurens county, aud their elf irts
seem to be bearing fruit and are appre
ciated by the people.
As the "press gaug" and visitors ar
rived in Dublin over tlie Wrightsvilln A
Teunille and the Maoou A Dntdiu rail
roads on Monday afternoon the whistles
of all Dublin’s manufacturing enter-
piises blew a hearty welcome, and, upon
a'epping from tlie cars, tbe "gang" wus
received in tbe most cordial and hearty
manner, assigned to their homes aud at
once takeu in charge by their hosts who
had carnages iu readtuess for a drive
over the oity. In tlie evuuing an infor
mal reception was given at tlie court
house, where the Saudersville baud fur
nished iuspririug music, aud a royal,
good, free-aud-easy time was had und
refreshments were served. Across the
street the Elks held a reception, attended
only by stags, which was also greatly
enjoyed. Tuesday evenii.C u V entertain
ment, however, tclipsedV 1 . 0, ‘he o-ca-

Dubliu assembled with fllcir guests at a
banquet spiead that yet forms a bright,
spot iu the memory of all so fortunate
as to he seated at the tables so gracious
ly ladou with the viands und fruits of
the season. From the binq-iet hail the
crowd weut to the oourtnouNo, win re
was assembled a large audience to
listen to the toasts of the evening,
lion. J. M. Finn was toast master of the
eveuiug and presided with ease and dig
nity, introducing each speaker in wordi
most fitting aud appropriate. Toasts
were responded to us follows; “Our
Guests,” Rev. W. K. Ramsey. "Educa
tion," State School Commissioner U. it.
Glenn. “The Editor as a , Dili je-Hold-

Candler. "Our Country," Sen. A. S.

a paper from Agricultural Commissioner
O. B. Stevens read by Hen F. Periy.
“The Ladies,” Congressman W, G.
Brantley. “Our Hosts," Editor VV. S.
Coleman, president of the association.
The speeches wore all good and well
received. The evening's entertainment
was closet) with a dance which lasted
into the wee i,ma’ hours of tho morning.
Tuesday afternoon a delightful 15 mile
boat ride was taken down tho Oconee,
two steamboats, the "City of Dublin”
and “Gypsy,” being taxed to their ut
most oapacity to carry the large ami gay
party, who spent a most charming even

why
Mother’s Friend
..docs expectant mothers so much
good is because it is an external liniment,
to be applied upon the outside, where
much of the strain comes. It helps be
cause the pores of the skin readily absorb
it, and it comes into direct contact with
and is absorbed by the parts involved.
Morning sickness is quickly banished,
snd nervousness Is kept completely away.
Tlie sense of dread and foreboding is not
experienced, even during labor Itself.
Confinement is short nml almost without

rich in honey where the Lee
can get them with least effort, means an
increase in the quantity and quality of
the ho’.ey garnered in the hives.
It is on this principle that Dr. Pierce’s
Golden Medical Discovery increases the
quantity and quality of the nutrition of
the Issfv. The ingredients of this medi
cine are selected to furnish the blood
and stomach with the essential materials
for body building, in a cotie, titrated and
assimilable form. They make the con
ditions under which the stomach and
org »ns of digestion and nutrition must
work, ns easy as possible, aud so reduce
strain and waste. As the strength of
the body is re-established disease is
thrown off. It is due to this fact that
persons witli weak lungs, obstinate
cough, bronchitis, and other diseases,
which if neglected lead to consumption,
find a complete cure hy using "Golden
Medical Discovery.”
