Suicides in Hia Casket
Winstead, Conn., October 24.—
Placing his coffin on the family lot
in the cemetery here, Dennis Ken-
nelly, aged 73 crept inside pulled the
lid down and shot himself through
the heart. His body was found late
today by caretakers. He had been
dead since last night.
On a marble headstone which Ken-
nelly had caused to be erected was
written in chalk: “Be good to your
mother,” and on the lid o fthe coffin
“I would rather — — than see my
wife.” Two words had been rubbed
out. Kennelly had made preparations
methodically. The coffin he had
had made, according to his own spe
cifications. When a caretaker of the
cemetery asked him yesterday after
noon. “Is that your box. Dennis?” the
latter smilingly replied that it was.
He leaves five children.
