IN MEMORY OF A. W. RIDINGS
On February 22, the death Angel
visited the home of Mrs. A. W . Rid-
ngs and took from them their lov
ing companion and father.
He had been sick with pheumonia
for eleven days when the end came
ind God said come up higher. All
wos done that willing and loving
hands could do for him in lus last
hours, we tried so hard to keep him
with us, but Jesus loved him best.
He bore his suffering with great pa
tients, and would often smile just
before he died we feel sure he lean
ed his head on Jesus breast and
brathed his life out sweetly there.
With solemn delight I survey
The corpse when the spirit is fled
In love with the beautiful clny
time.
His purpose will ripen fast
Unfolding every hour.
The hud may have a bitter tast
But swee will be the flower.
Why do we mourn departed father.
Or shake at death's alarms
T'is but the voice that Jesus sends
To call him to his arms.
Are we not tending upward too
As fast as time can move
Nor would we wish the hours more •
slow
To keep us from his love.
No more will mourn our buried
father
But lift the ardent prayer
And every thought and effort bend
To rise and join him there.
Ye mourning sninls, whos streaming
tears
Flow o'er your fathers dead
