BY JAMES GABDNER. ©eueral FORMAN S IRON PLOW STOCK. undersigned having ft purchased the patent right -*- f to th above valuable and popu- lar PLOW STOCK fir the counties ol Kiclimona, Columbia, Lincoln, Burke, Jefferson, Washington, Striven and Emanuel, are prepared to furnish it to Planters at the Manufacturer’s price. This stock, which is made entirely of wrought iron, is a South ern invention ; and has been sufficiently tested by the most practical and successful planters in the country, as numerous certificates in our possession will show, to prove that, when provided with suita ble shares, it runs more steadily, breaks and pul verizes the soil more thoroughly', clogs less in rough land, is more easily adjusted for deep or shallow plowing, holds the shares more firmly, lasts incom parably longer, and is, in the end, far cheaper than anv other stock now in use. In the November number of the Southern Culti vator, p. 345, the editor of that work, says: “ After giving this Plow a fair and impartial trial, we can truly say that we regard it as a most valuable im provement on all common wooden implements of the kind now in use. For general efficiency and convenience, ns w ell as special adaptation to deep tillage or siibsniling. we know of nothing that sur passes it ; while on the score of economy and dura* h 'tty, it is altogether unrivalled. No Plow with which we are acquainted is so well calculated to resist the careless and destructive usage of planta tion negroes, and we doubt not that its general in troduction would be of very great pecuniary benefit to the planting interests of the South. Such is the opinion of the editor of the Cultivator , and such is ; the opinion of all who. like him, have given the j plow a fair and impartial trial. This stock is ‘ adapted to six different points or shares, including I every variety which a planter will need from the j beginning to the end of the year. These shares ! will be furnished with the stock when desired, j though any plantation South can make them after j once seeing them. The stock is the only part of the plow patented. Circulars, containing certificates, and a more minute description of the Plow, may be obtained by application. Rights for counties, shops or plantations, will be sold on reasonable terms.
