OjijujiUkin to Wyh Freight Tariffs!
Ofcicr of tiik Fashion Link, t
Aiocsta, April 15, 1854. t
lIIIIE subscriber would respectfully call the
.8 aat tenth in of the Merchants throughout Geor
gia, Tennessee, Alabama, and South Carolina, to
the Savanna!) River, as a safe, expeditious and
cheap route for the transportation of their Merchan
dise.
Bv comparing the freight tariff's of this line with
those of the South Carolina, and Central, and
Waynesboro’ Railroads, it will show a result in fa
vor of this route of from 3" to 5n percent., gener
ally, and in some instances a greater per coinage.
Bv this route a merchant receives each shipment
of liis Goods together; they are not retailed by
him as they generally are by Railroads connecting
with the seaboard, with a list of charges attached
to each package.
In addition to the present force of this line, an
other new Boat, of light draught of water, will be
added during the coming summer. These boats
will leave Savannah after the discharge of the New
York and Philadelphia Steamships, twice or three
times a week, delivering those Goods at this point
in FIVE DAYS.
From the present low tariff of this lino a deduc
tion of 12 ; -j per cent, will he allowed on all bills
fi oui this date, (jive the river more business, and
a cheaper freight yet awaits you.
All goods from the seaboard should be directed
to M. A. COHEN, Savannah,
and produce from the interior to
JNO. MOORE,, Augusta.
To the manufacturing portion of Georgia, as well
as to the Cotton Merchants, and dealers generally,
on the line of Railroads through Georgia and Ten
nessee, who ship to Savannah and Northern mar
kets, this route offers very favorable inducements.
To facilitate shipments, as well as to prevent er
rors, bills of lading should be forwarded to M. A.
COHEN, at Savannah, for all go ds from seaboard.
JNO. A. MOORE.
Incase of low river, all goods consigned to this
line, will be forwarded by Central, and connecting
Railroads. aprilio

REED’S PATENT CHRONOMETER
ENG IN E.
is an improved Steam Engine, for which
SS Letters Patent were granted to John A. Reed,
of New York, January 9, 1855. The nature of this
Improvement consists of the increase of power
about 20 per cent, and reducing the weight of the
Engine one-half. The saving of fuel is effected by
letting the steam in on both sides of the cylinder;
doubling the size of the port, and balancing the
pressure, removing the friction and weight of the
slide valves, eccentrics, cross heads, connecting
rods, Ac. The exceeding simplicity of this Engine,
renders it. ranch more durable and easily managed
than any other, and when placed upon the boiler
with wheels it is portable though effective.
These Engines received the First, Prize Medal at
the great Exhibition in Paris. Thero are about
Seventy-five of them now in operation, all giving
great satisfaction.

Arnica liniment, for burns,
. &c. —A supply of this very desirable article,
which should be kept in every family) ready for
use, may be obtained at the City Drug Store, where
it is for sale at only 00 cents per bottle. Having
been burnt severely myself with Burning Fluid, 1
tried every remedy proposed by my friends, but
found, from experience, they were no go. On using
the Arnica Liniment, as per directions, it afforded
immediate relief. 1 therefore can speak from ex
perience. This invaluable oleaginous Linamcnt
acts like magic, in removing the most acute pain,
by Burns, and seldom requires more than two or
three applications to relieve and cure those of a
severe character, either from Burning Fluid, Cmn
phine, Powder or Fire. This article is prepared
only by myself, and having tried its efficiency, be
lieve it is the best remedy that can be used, when
ever the case requires. For sale bv

ROGERS’ LIVERWORT AND TAR,
I7U)It the complete cure of Cough*, Colds, Jn
llueuza, Asthma, Bronchitis, Spitting of Blood,
and all other Lung ComplainW tending to Cou
■umption.
This preparation is getting into uso ail over the
country. the numerous letters vre receive from
our various agents, informing ns of cures effected
iu their immediate neighborhoods, warrant us in
saving it is one of the best, if not the very best
Cough Medicine now before the public. It. almost
invariably relieves aud not uufrequently cures the
very worst case. When all other Cough prepara
tions have failed, this has relieved vhe patient, as
Druggists, dealers in Medicines, and Physicians
can testify. Ask the Agent in your nearest town,
what hits been his experience of the effects of this
medicine. If he has been selling it for anv length
of time, ho will tell you it is the best Medicine ex
tant.
Below we give a few extracts from letters we
have received lately regarding the virtues of this
Medicine:
Dr. S. S. Delhi, of Knoxville, Ga., says: I have
been using vour Liverwort and Tar very extensive
ly in mv practice for three years past, and it is with
pleasure I state my belief iu its superiority over all
other articles with which I am acquainted, ibr
which it is recommended.
Messrs. Fitzgerald A Benners, writing front
VVaytiesviUe, X. C., any: “The Liverwort and Tar
is becoming daily more popular in this country,
and we think justly so. All who have tried it
speak in commendable terms of it, and say it is
vetv beneficial in alleviating the complaints for
which it is recommended.”
Our Agent in Pickens District, S. C., Mr. a R.
MeFall, assures us “ that he uses it with great ben
efit in bis own family, and recommends it to his
neighbors.” lie gives au instance of a Negro wo
man, iu his vicinity, who had been suffering with
disease of the Lungs for years, attended with se
vere cough, who was relieved by the Liverwort A
Tar.
Such are the good reports we hear of this Medi
cine from all parts of the South. For a report of
the surprising cures it has performed in the West
ern, and Northern and Eastern States, we would iu
vite the suffering patient to rend the pamphlet
which accompanies each bottle. To all, we say,
have hope, have hope!
Try the Medicine 1 Be warned in season! And
neglect not that cough which is daily weakening
your constitution, irritating your throat and lungs,
and inviting on that dread disease, Consumption,
when so soothing and healing a remedy can be ob
tained as Dr. Rogers' Svrup of Liverwort and Tar.
Beware of Counterfeits and base imitations!
The genuine is signed Axdrew Rooeks ou the

to my elbow.
The misery that 1 have suffered for the last two
years, I cannot describe to you. I was in such ag

not done for two years. When I had taken six hot
ties, my sores had nearly all healed. My- sore got
