FREE TRADE AND NO MONOPOLY.
Opposition to High Freight Tariffs!
Office of tiif. Fashion Line,
Augusta, April 15, 1854. )
fH’IHE subscriber would respectfully call the
Si aattention of the Merchants throughout Geor
gia, Tennessee, Alabama, and South Carolina, to
the Savannah River, as a safe, expeditious anti
cheap route for the transportation of their Merchan
dise.
By comparing the freight tariffs of this line with
those of the South Carolina, and Central, and
Waynesboro’ Railroads, it will show a result in fa
vor of this route of from 3<> to 50 percent., gener
ally, and in some instances a greater per centage.
By this route a merchant receives each shipment
of his Goods together; they arc not retailed by
hint as they generally are by Railroads connecting
with the seaboard, with a list of charges attached
to each package.
In addition to the present force of this line, an
other new Boat, of light draught of water, will be
ndded during the coming summer. These boats
will leave Savannah after the discharge of the New
York and Philadelphia Steamships, twice or three
times a week, delivering those Goods at this point
in FIVE DAYS.
From the present low tariff of this line a deduc
tion of per cent, will be allowed on ail bills
from this date. Give the river more business, and
a cheaper freight yet awaits you.
All goods from the seaboard should be directed
to M. A. COHEX', Savannah,
and produce from the interior to
JXO. A. MOORE,, Augusta.
To the manufacturing portion of Georgia, ns well
as to the Cotton Merchants, and dealers generally,
on the line of Railroads through Georgia and Teu
nessee, who ship to Savannah and Northern mar
kets. this route offers very favorable inducements.
To facilitate shipments, as well as to prevent er
rors, bills of lading should be forwarded to M. A.
COHEX', at Savannah, forall goods from seaboard.
JXO. A. MOORE.
Iu case of low river, a!! goods consigned to this
line, will be forwarded by Central, ana connecting

Arnica liniment, for burns,
Ac.—A supply of this very desirable article,
(which should be kept in every family) ready for
use, may be obtained at the City Drug Store, where
it is for sale at only 50 cents per bottle. Having
been burnt severely myself with Burning Fluid, I
tried every remedy proposed by my friends, but
found, from experience, they were no go. On using
the Arnica Liniment, as per directions, it afforded
immediate relief. 1 therefore can speak from ex
perience. This invaluable oleaginous Liuament
acts like magic, in removing the most acute pain,
by Burns, and seldom requires more than two or
three applications to relieve and cure those of a
severe character, either from Burning Fluid, Cam
phine, Powder or Fire. This article is prepared
only by myself, and having tried its efficiency, be
lieve it is the best remedy that can be used, when
ever the case requires. For sale by

SARSAPARILLA.
IS now put up m the largest sized bottles, and is
acknowledged to be the best Sarsaparilla made,
as is certified by the wonderful cures it has per
formed, the original copies of which are in the pos
session of the proprietor. Remember, this is the
only true and original article.
Scrofula, Syphilis, Mercurial Complaints, Cancer,
Gangrene, Rheumatism, ami a vast variety of other
diseases are speedily and perfectly cured by tbe use
of this medicine.
Read the faUoiving Certificate:
Tallapoosa Co., Ala., Jan. 2, 1855. .
Dear Sir—l send you this to certify to you that
your Extr act of Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla has
performed one of the most wonderful cures on me
that has ever been effected on man.
I have been afflicted for forty years‘with erup
tions on my legs and feet; in IS4S they got so bad
that 1 had to go on crutches, and in 1849 I had one
leg amputated above the knee. In about nine
months after my other leg broke out in large eating
and running sores, from mv knee to my foot, and
discharged a great deal of offensive matter. My
groin also broke out in large biles, which discharg
ed much offensive matter, and at the same time my
left hand broke out in large running sores nearly
to my elbow.
The misery that I have suffered for the last two
years, I caunot describe to you. I was in such ag
ony that I never rested day or night.
In October last, my son brought me one of your
bottle wrappers; I read it, and found record of some
wonderful cures performed by your “Extract of
Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla;’’ 1 sent and got two
bottles of it, and commenced taking it. In two
weeks, to my great astonishment, my sores all be
came easy, and I could sleep all night, a thing I had
not done for two years. \\ hen I had taken six bot
tles, my sores had nearly all healed. My sore got
well as if by enchantment. 1 have now used in all
eight bottles of your “ Extract of Yellow Dock and
Sarsaparilla,” and I now consider mysel well.
I entreat all of the afflicted to try this medicine,
for 1 believe it will cure any known disease in the
world. Lay aside all prejudice and just try it, and
proclaim its great worth to suffering mankind, and
entreat them to take it, for it will cure them.
My case is well known in a large portion of Sonth
Carolina, Georgia and Alabama, and if anv should
doubt the above cure, 1 invite them to call on me,
and l will show them the scars. 1 can be found in
Tallepoosa countv, A la., one mile from Stoe’s Kerry
BENAJAH HUGHES.'
The Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla is peculiarly
l adapted for females of delicate health, resulting
i from irregularity of menstrual discharges, and oth
er diseases peculiar to their sex. The proprietor
i has in his possession a great number of certificates
I of cures performed, of the above description. We
assure the afflicted, that a bottle or two of Dr. Guv
sott's Extract of Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla will
at once regulate those difficulties, and.renew the
j natural energies.
