FREE TRADE AND NO MONOPOLY.
Opposition to High Freight Tariffs!
Office of the Fashion Link, )
A cor ST a, April 15, 1654. f
rhe sut iseriber would respectfully call the
tl aattention of the Merchants throughout Gaor
ii, Ti nnessee, Alabama, and South Carolina, to
the Savannah River, as a safe, expeditious and
cheap route for the transportation of their Merehan-
By comparing the freight tariffs of this line with
tint.sc of the South Carolina, and Central, and
Waynesboro’ Railroads, it will show a result in fa
vor of this route of from So to 50 percent., gener
aiiv, and in some instances a greater per ventage.
By this route a merchant receives each shipment
of his Goods together; they.- are not retailed by
him as they generally are by Railroads connecting
with the seaboard, with a list of charges attached
to each package.
In addition to the present force of this iiue, an
other new Boat, of light draught of water, will be
added during the coming summer. These boats
will leave Savannah after the discharge of the New
Y'-rk aud Philadelphia Steamships, twice 01 three
times a week, delivering those Goods at this point
in FIVE DAYS.
From the present low tariff of this line a deduc
tion of P2)Y per cent, will be allowed on all bills
from this date. Give the river more business, and
a cheaper freight yet awaits you.
All goods from the seaboard should he directed
to M. A. COHEN, Savannah,
and produce from the interior to
JNO. A. MOORE,, Augusta.
To the manufacturing portion of Georgia, as well
as to the Cotton Merchants, and dealers generally,
mi the line of Railroads through Georgia and Ten
nessee, who ship to Savannah and Northern mar
kets, this route offers very favorable inducements.
To facilitate shipments, a< well as to prevent er
rors. bills of lading should be forwarded to M. A.
t 01IEN, at Savannah, for all goods from seaboard.
JNO. A. MOORE.
In case of low river, all goods consigned to this
line, will bo forwarded by Central, and connecting
Railroads. april's

REED'S PATENT CHRONOMETER
ENGINE.
r'l'HllS i- att improved Steam Engine, for which j
a Letters Patent were granted to John A. Reed, ]
of New Y ork, January 9, i 5.7.5. The nature of this j
Improvement consists of the increase of power
about 20 per cent, and reducing the weight of the !
Engine one-half. The saving of fuel is effected by!
letting tho steam in on both sides of the cylinder ;
doubling the size of the port, and balancing the
pressure, removing the friction and weight of the j
slide valves, eccentrics, cross heads, connecting
reals, Ac. The exceeding simplicity of this Engine, 1
renders it much more durable and easily managed
tlian any other, and when placed upon the boiler
with wheels it is portable though effective.
These Engines received the First Prize Medal at
the great Exhibition in Paris. There are about
Seventy five of them now in operation, all giving
great satisfaction.

LIFE AND DEATH.
It is the aim of most men to live healthy, and attain
1 a ripe old age. This, we claim, our R. R. R. Remedies
will secure to those who are now weighed down by dis
ease „ r crippled with pains and aches, or other infirmi
ties The R. R K. Remedies possess medical efficacious
and healing virtues, strengthening properties and life
prolonging powers, that have never before been given
to the wor d. They are founded on an entirely new
i theory, and thov establish new principles in the treat
! ment of diseases’that will enable all who use the R. R
: It 's to resist the most violent diseases and the most
! destructive of pestilents. They w ill render the human
. body proof against disease, and will enable the afflicted
to secure for themselves sound health aud long life.
It. R It.
it. lv. iv.
The reader will bear in mind that the R. R. R- Rem
edies consist of three remedies, which are knowu as
RAHWAY’S READY RELIEF.
RAD WAY’S RENOVATING RESOLVENT,
RADWAY S REGULATORS.
With these three remedies, we are confident that we
can 1 utile disease in all its varied phenomena—no mat
ter by what name it is called, or how- terrible it may
appear. We will, with these three simple remedies,
guarantee a speedy and effectual restoration of the hu
man body to sound and vigorous health, free from all
bodily pains, aches and infirmities.
HOW DISEASED ACTION BECOMES ESTABLISHED
AND THE BLOOD IMPURE.
A great erroi has long prevailed in the minds of med
ical men, That Impurity of the Blood is the Cause of
Diseased Action.” This is a serious mi-take it is a
disturbance of the circulation , ami the establishment of
diseased action, that causes impurity of the blood.
The R. R R. theory holds the truth of the above max
ims, for if a person be in a state of perfect health, each
arterv and vein must carry to and from the heart its
allotted proportion of b ood. and when any set of ves
sels refuse v be the cause what it may) to carry their
proportion, the current of blood becomes dammed up—
in other words, a congestion takes place, giving pain to
a greater or less extent Here, then, is the beginning
of diseased action, which, if not relieved, will soon run
into inflammat ion, and the disease becomes established.
Diseased action being once established, the blood be
comes impure, and the regularity of action on the part
of tlie Liver, Ski .. Bowels, &c , is sure to be interru t
ed aud the general system* by sympathising with the
local complaint, becomes involved iti the difficulty. That
i this is the true state of the case, let any one call to mr d
i his symptoms on catching cold. The local difficulty may
be a sore throat, which is a congestion of the blood,
amounting (souietin es) to an inflammation about the
throat, owing to a previous deranged state of the cir
culation, and lie will remember that his bowels become
costive, bis liver deranged, or his skin dry, and his blood
impure llad he used Rad way'a Heady Relief when the
j congestion was setting in,as an application to the throat,
and swallowed a dose of the Regulators, he would have
| broken up the congestion, and restored the regularity
' on the part of the liver, skin, bowels, &c. which had
been broken in upon by the effects of the sore throat.
Regularity being again established, the impure blood is
soon purified, and the circulation again equalized, and
the health restored.

which it is recommended.
Messrs. Fitzgerald & Benners, writing front

and we think justly so. All who have tried "it
speak iu commendable terms of it, and say it is
very beneficial in alleviating the complaints for
which it is recommended."
Our Agent in Pickens District, S. 0., Mr. 8. R.
