FREE TRADE AND NO MONOPOLY.
Op/rotiilm to High Freight Tariffs /
Office of the Fashion Line, /
AumrsTA, April 15, 1854. \
ijIAIIE subscriber would respectfully call the
il aattentionof the Merchants throughout Geor
gia, Tennessee, Alabama, and South Carolina, to
;ue Savannah River, as a safe, expeditious and
; cheap route for the transportation of their Merchan-
Bv comparing the freight tariffs of this line with
those of the South Carolina, and Central, and
Waynesboro’ Railroads, it will show a result in fa
vor of this route of from So to 50 percent., gener
ally, and in some instance's a greater per centage.
By this route a merchant receives each shipment
of his Goods together; they are not retailed bv
him as they generally are by Railroads connecting
with the seaboard, with a list of charges attached
! to each package.
In addition to the present force of this line, an
other new Boat, of light draught of water, will be
added during the coming summer. Those boats
will leave Savannah after the discharge of the New
York and Philadelphia Steamships, twice or three
times a week, delivering those Goods at this point
in FIA'E DAI'S.
From the present low tariff’of this line a deduc
tion of 12'7 per cent, will be allowed on all bills
from this date. Give the river more business, and
a cheaper freight vet awaits you.
All goods front the seaboard should be directed
to M. A. COHEN, Savannah,
I and produce from the interior to
JNO. A. MOORE,, Augusta.
To the manufacturing portion of Georgia, as well
as to the Cotton Merchants, and dealers generally,
on the line of Railroads through Georgia and Teu
nessee, who ship to Savannah and Northern mar
kets, this route offers very favorable inducements.
To facilitate shipments, as well as to prevent er
rors, bills of lading should be forwarded to Al. A.
COHEN, at Savannah, for all goods from seaboard.
JNO. A. MOORE.
In ease of low river, all goods consigned to this

1 j REED S PATENT CHRONOMETER
ENGINE.
r|4llis is an improved Steam Engine, for which
8 Letters Patent were granted to John A. Reed,
of New York, January 9, 1855. The nature of this
■ ! Improvement consists of the increase of power
about 2o per cent, and reducing the weight of the
i Engine one-half. The saving of fuel is effected by
» letting the steam in on both sides of the cylinder;
■ doubling the size of the port, and balancing the
' 1 pressure, removing the friction and weight of the
1 slide valtes, eccentrics, cross heads, connecting
| rods, Ac. The exceeding simplicity of this Engine,
' ; renders it much more durable and easily managed
than any other, and when placed upon' Ihe boiler
' with wheels it is portable though effective.
These Engines received the First Prize Medal at
the great Exhibition in Paris. There are about
; Seventy-five of them now in operation, all giving
1 great satisfaction.

IMPORTANT REVELATIONS—IJFK AND DEATH,

A great physical law. po-sessing the most important

overlooked and neglected by the Medical Faculty.
WONDERFUL POWER OF TIIE R. R. R. REMEDIES

LIFE AND DEATH.
It u the aim o! most men to live healthy, and attain
j a ripe old age. This, we claim, our 11. R. R. Remedies
! will secure to those who are now weighed down by dis
i ease or crippled with pains and aches, or other infirmi
ties. The K. R R. Remedies possess medical efficacious
and healing virtues, strengthening properties and life
prolonging powers, that have ne< er belore been given
to the word. They are founded on an entirely new
I theory, and they establish new principles in the treat
ment of diseases that will enable all who use the R. R
! It‘s to resist the most violent diseases and the mo.-t
destructive of pestilents. They will render the human
! ho ly proof against disease, and will enable the afflicted
: to secure for themselves sound health and long life.
R. R. R.
The reader will hear in mind that the R. R. R. Re.,l
edies consist of three remedies, which are known as
RADWAY’S READY RELIEF,
RADWAY'S RENOVATING RESOLVENT,
RADWAY'S REGULATORS.
With these three remedies, we are confident that we
can I allle disease in all its varied phenomena—no mat
ter bv what name it is called, or how terrible it may
appear. We will, with these three simple remedies,
guarantee a speedy and effectual restoration of the hu
man body to sound and vigorous health, free from all
bodilv pains, aches and infirmities.
ROW DISEASED ACTION BECOMES ESTABLISHED
AND THE BLOOD IMPURE.
A great error has long prevailed in the minds of med
ical men, *■ That Impurity of the Blood is the Cause of
Diseased Action.” This is a serious mistake. It is a
' disturbance of the circulation and the establishment of
diseased action, that causes impurity of the blood.
The R. R R. theory holds the truth of the above max
ims. for if a person be in a state-of perfect health, each
artery and vein must carry to and from the heart its
allotted proportion of blood, and when any »et of ves-
I sols refuse v be the cause what it may) to carry their
! proportion, the current of blood becomes dammed it)) —
I in other words, a congestion takes place, giving pain to
! a greater or less extent. Here, then, is the beginning
i of diseased action, which, if not relieved, will soon run
into inflammation, andtliedisea.se becomes established.
Diseased action being once established, the blood be
comes impure, and the regularity of action on the part
of the Liver. Skin, Bowels. Ac , is sure to be interrupt
ed. and the general system, by sympathising with the
local complaint, becomes involved in the difficulty. That
this is the true state of the case, let any one call to mird
his .-symptoms on catching cold. The local difficulty may
be a sore throat, which is a congestion of the blood,
amounting (sometimes) t«> an inflammation about the
throat, owing to a previous deranged state of the cir
culation, and he will remember that his bowels become
• : costive, his liverderanged, or his skin dry, and his blood
: impure. Had he used Rad way s Heady Relief when the
j congestion was netting in.as an application to the throat,
j and swallowed a dose of the Regulators, he would have
| broken up the congestion, and restored the regularity
; on the part of the liver, skin, bowels, Ate . which had
been broken in upon by the effects of the sore throat,
t Regularity being again established, the impure blood is
. soon purified, and the circulation again equalized, and
- j the health restored.

This preparation is getting into use all over the

Druggists, dealers in .Medicines, and Physicians
can testify. Ask the Agent in your nearest town,
what has been his experience of the effects of this :
medicine. If he has been selling it for am length
of time, he will toll you ii is the best Medicine ex
j tant.
Below we give a few extracts from letters we !
have received lately regarding the virtues of this
Medicine:
I)r. S. S. Oslin, of Knoxville, Ga., says: I have I
been using your Liverwort and Tar very extensive- .
lv in my practice for three years past, and it is with
pleasure I state mv belief in its superiority over all
other articles with which 1 am acquainted, for '
which it is recommended.
Messrs. Fitzgerald A Benners, writing from
Waynesville, N. C., say: “The Liverwort and Tar
is becoming daily more popular in this countrv,
and vve think justly so. All who have tried it
speak in commendable terms of it, and say it is
very beneficial in alleviating the complaints for
which it is recommended.’’
Our Agent in Pickens District, S. 0., Mr. S. R.
Ale Fall, assures us “ that he uses it w ith great ben
efit in his own family, and recommends it to his
neighbors.” He gives an instance of a Negro wo
man, in his vicinity, who had been suffering with ‘
disease of the Lungs for years, attended \v tilt St- j
vere cough, who was relieved bv the Liverwort & j
Tar.
Such are the good reports we hear of this Medi
cine from all parts of the South. For a report of ■
the surprising cures it has performed in the West
