Office of the Fashiox Lin k, I
Avgusta, April 15, is:, 4. j
lIHIE subscriber would respectfully call the
■. aattention of the Merchants throughout Geor
gia, Tennessee, Alabama, and South Carolina, to
the Savannah River, as a safe, expeditious and
cheap route for the transportation of their Merehnn
l’.v comparing the freight tarilfs of this lino with
those of the South Carolina, and Central, and
1 Waynesboro’ Railroads, it will show a result in fa
• vor of this route of from 30 to 50 percent., gener
ally, and in some instances a greater per centage.
By this route a merchant receives each shipment
of his Goods together; they are not retailed bv
him as they generally are by Railroads connecting
with the seaboard, w ith a list of charges attached
1 to each package.
In addition to the present force of this line, an
other new Boat, of light draught of water, nil] be
j added during the coming summer. These boats
will leave Savannah after the discharge of the New
York and Philadelphia Steamships, twice or three
times a week, delivering those Goods at this point
in FIVE DAYS.
j From the present low tariffof this line a deduc
tion of I‘2V£ per cent, will be allowed 011 all bills
from this date. Give the river more business, and
a cheaper freight yet awaits you.
All goods from the seaboard should be directed
| to M. A. COHEN, Savannah,
i and produce from the interior to
JNO. A. MOORE,, Augusta.
To the manufacturing portion of Georgia, as well
as to the Cotton Merchants, and dealers generally,
on the line of Railroads through Georgia and Ten
nessee, who ship to Savannah and Northern mar
kets, this route offers very favorable inducements.
To facilitate shipments, as well as to prevent er
r.cs, bills of lading should be forwarded to M. A. I
COHEN, at Savannah, for all goods from seaboard
JNO. A. MOORE.
In case of low river, all goods consigned to this
‘ line, will ha forwarded by Central, and connecting

REED’S PATENT CHRONOMETER
ENGINE.
f B t H IS is an improved Steam Engine, for which
a Letters Patent were granted to John A. Reed,
ot New \ ork. January 9,1855. The nature of this
Improvement consists of the increase of power
about 20 per cent, and reducing the weight of the
Engine one-half. The saving of fuel is eil'ected by
letting the steam in on both sides of ihe cylinder;
doubling the size of the port, and balancing the
pressure, removing the friction and weight of the
slide valves, eccentrics, cross heads, connecting
rods, Ac. The exceeding simplicity ol’this Engine,
renders it much more durable and easily managed
than any other, and when placed upon the boiler
with wheels it is portable though effective.
These Engines received the First Prize Modal at
the great Exhibition in Paris. There are about
Seventy-live of them now in operation, all giving
great satisfaction.

LIFE AND DEATH.
It is the aim of most men to live healthy, and attain
a ripe old age. This, we claim, our R. R. R. Remedies
will secure to those who are now weighed down by dis- j
ease, or crinpied with pains and aches, or other infirmi
ties. Theß.lt R. Remedies possess medical efficacious
and healing virtues, strengthening properties and life
prolonging powers, that have never before been given
to the wor d. They are founded on an entirely new
theory, and they t stablish new principles in the treat
ment of diseases that will enable all who use the R. R
R.'s to resist the most violent diseases and the most
destructive of pestilents. They will render the human
body proof against disease, and will enable the afflicted
to secure for themselves sound health and long life.
R. R. R.
The render will bear in mind that the R. R. R. Rem
edies consist of three remedies, which are known as
RAHWAY'S READY RELIEF.
RADWAY’d RENOVATING RESOLVENT,
RADWAY'S REGULATORS.
With these three remedies, we are confident that we
| can l affile disease in all its varied phenomena—no mat
ter by what name it is called, or how terrible it may
J appear. We will, with these three simple remedies,
| guarantee a speedy and effectual restoration of the hu
! man body to sound and vigorous health, free from all
! bodily pains, aches and infirmities.
HOW DISEASED ACTION BECOMES ESTABLISHED
AND THE BLOOD IMPURE.
A great error has long prevailed in the minds of med-
I ical men, That Impurity of the Blood is tire Cause of
I Diseased Actions' This is a serious ini take. It is a
| disturbance of the circulation, and the establishment of
I diseased action, that causes impurity of the blood,
t The R. RR. theory holds the truth of the above max
! inis, for if a person be in a state of perfect health, each
artery and vein must carry to and from the he irt its
allotted proportion of blood, and when any set of ves
sels refuse ,be the cause what it may) to carry their
proportion, the current of blood becomes dammed up—
in other words, a congestion takes place, giving pain to
a greater or less extent Here, then, is the beginning
of diseased action, which, if not relieved, will soon run
I into inflammation, and the disease becomes established.
Diseased action being once established, the blood be
comes impure, and the regularity of action on the part
1 of the Liver. Ski .. Bowels. Ac , is .sure to be interrupt
ed and the general system, by sympathising with the
local complaint, becomes involved in the difficulty. That
: this is the true state of the case, let any one call to mird
i bin symptoms on catching cold. The local difficulty may
i bea’sore throat, which is a congestion of the blood,
| amounting (sometimes) to an inflammation about the
■ throat, owing to a previous deranged state of the cir
: dilation, and he will remember that his bowels become
costive, his liver deraneed, or his skin dry. and his blood
! impure llad lie used Radway's Ready Relief when the
• congestion was setting in,as an application to the throat,
’ and swallowed a dose of the Regulators, he would have
broken up the congestion, and restored the regularity
; on the part of the liver, skin, bowels, Ac . which had
been broken in upon by the effects of the sore throat
i Regularity being again established, the impure blood is
soon purified, and the circulation again equalized, and
the health restored.

dition, to sound health, after ilie skill of four of the
most learned Physicians in New York had failed to

READ IIEK LETTER.
January 3, 1856.
Messrs. Radway & Co — I tried your Ready Relief,
and had my joints rubbed with it. and T never felt pain
after the first ten minutes. 1 was rubbed with it. up to
the present time. Sirs, Ido not know what to compare
‘ it to but a charm ; for it is a mystery to me. I was a
cripple for two years, and had not the proper use of my
limbs for three years I was worn down to a skeleton. I
then commenced the use of your Ready Relief. Resol
vent and Regulators. The paia left mo in ten minutes,
and 1 b gan to gain strength very fast, and could walk
with ease in a few weeks Before I heard of vour Rem*

Dr. Maclelan, and many other physicians in this city, I
I cannot now remember. 1 was completely pulled to pieces
by tliom. My constitution was broken up with medi
cines that did me no good. 1 could not put a foot to
the ground, ior pick up a pin. I was lifted and carried
up and down stairs like an infant: and now. thank God !

ROGERS’ LIVERWORT AND TAR.
BlOlt the complete cure of Coughs, Colds, In
JD thienza, Astluna, Bronchitis, Spitting of Blood,
and all other Lung Complaints tending to Con
; sumption.
This preparation is getting into use all over the
country. The numerous letters we receive from
our various agents, informing its of cures effected
in their immediate neighborhoods, warrant us in
saving it is one of the best, if not the very best
Cough Medicine now before the public. It almost
invariably relieves and not uufrequcntly cures the
very worst ease. When all other Cough prepara
tions hare failed, this has relieved the patient, as
: Druggists, dealers in Medicines, and Physicians
can testify. Ask the Agent in your nearest town,
: what has been his experience of the effects of this
medicine. It' he has been selling it for any length
■ it' time, he will toll you it is the best Medicine ex
: taut.
Below we give a few extracts from letters we
; have received lately regarding the virtues of this
Medicine:
Dr. S. S. Oslin, of Knoxville, Oh., says: 1 have
been using your Liverwort and Tar very extensive
ly in my practice for three years past, and it is with
pleasure I state my belief in its superiority over all
other articles with which 1 am acquainted, for
which it is recommended.
Messrs. Fitzgerald A Benners, writing from
Waynesville, N. C., say: ‘‘The Liverwort and Tar
is becoming daily more popular in this country,
and we think justly so. All who have tried ii
speak in commendable terms of it. and say it i.-.
very beneficial in alleviating the complaints for
which it is recommended.”
Our Agent in Pickens District, S. 0., Mr. S. R.
McFall, assures us “ that he uses it with great ben
efit in his own family, and recommends it to his
neighbors.” He gives an instance of a Negro wo
man, in bis vicinity, who had been suffering with
disease of the Lungs for years, attended with se
vere cough, who was relieved bv thu Liverwort A
Tar.
Such are the good reports we hear of this Medi
cine from all parts of the South. For a report of
the surprising cures it has performed in the West
ern, and Northern and Eastern States, we would in
vito ihe suffering patient to read the pamphlet
which accompanies each bottle. To all, we say,
have hope, have hope!
Try the Medicine! Be warned in season! And
neglect not that cough which is daily weakening
your constitution, irritating your throat and lungs,
and inviting on that dread disease, Consumption,
when so soothing and healing a remedy can be ob
tained as Dr. Rogers' Syrup of Liverwort and Tar.
Beware of Counterfeits and base imitations!
