Okfick of the Fashion Line, ( Auodsta, April 15, 1854. ) fffHIE subscriber would respectfully call the ’3. aattention of the Merchants throughout Geor gia, Tennessee, Alabama, and South Carolina, to ill*) Savannah River, as a safe, expeditious and cheap route for the transportation of their Merchan dise. isy comparing the freight taritis of this line with 1 1; so of the South Carolina, and Central, and Waynesboro’ Railroads, it will show a result in fa vor of this route of from 3*> to 50 percent., gener ally, and in some instances a greater per centage. By this route a merchant receives each shipment of his Goods together; they are not retailed by him as they generally are by Railroads * oimectiug wish the seaboard, with a list of chan; - o tached to each package. In addition to the present force of ibis line, an other new Boat, of light draught of water, will be added during the coming summer. These boats will leave Savannah after the discharge of the New York and Philadelphia Steamships, twice or three times a week, delivering those Goods at this point in FIVE DAYS. From the present low tariff of this line a deduc tion of 1 2)4 per cent, will be allowed on all bills from this date. Give the river more business, and a cheaper freight yet awaits you. All goods from the seaboard should be directed to M. A. COHEN, Savannah, and produce from the interior to JN'O. A. MOORE,, Augusta. To the manufacturing portion of Georgia, as well as to the Cotton Merchants, and dealers generally, on the line of Railroads through Georgia and Teu nessee, who snip to Savannah and Northern mar kets, this route offers very favorable inducements. To facilitate shipments, as well as to prevent er rors. bills of lading should be forwarded to M. A. COHEN, at Savannah, for all goods from seaboard •TNO A. MOORE. For »ale bv M S MeKIN X B onxeral REED S PATENT CHRONOMETER ENGINE. rimis is an improved Steam Engine, for which 1 _ Letters Patent were granted to John A. Reed, of New York, January 9,1855. The nature of this Improvement consists of the increase of power about 20 per cent, and reducing the weight of the Engine one-half. The saving of fuel is effected by letting the steam in on both sides of the cylinder; doubling the size of the port, and balancing the pressure, removing the friction and weight of the j slide valves, eccentrics, cross heads, connecting rods, &e. The exceeding simplicity of this Engine, renders it much mure durable and easily managed than any other, and when placed upon the boiler with wheels it is portable though effective. These Engines received the First Prize Medal at the great Exhibition in Paris. There are about Seventy-five of them now in operation, all giving j great satisfaction. Head the fullerwing Certificate: Tallapoosa Co., Ala*., Jan. 2, 1855. I)kar Sir —I send you this to certify to you that your Extract of Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla has j performed one of the most wonderful cures on me that has ever been effected on man. I have been afflicted for forty year s'with erup- i tions on my legs and feet; in 1848 they got so bad that I had to go on crutches, and in 1849*1 had one ! leg amputated above the knee. In about nine months after my other leg broke out in large eating and running sores, from my knee to my foot, and discharged a great deal of offensive matter. My j groin also broke out in large biles, which discharg ed much offensive matter, and at the same time my j left hand broke out in large running sores nearly j to my elbow. The misery that I have suffered for the last two years, I cannot describe to you. f was in such ag onv that I never rested day or night. In October last, my son brought me one of your bottle wrappers; I read it, a id found record of some wonderful cures performed bv vour ‘‘Extract of Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla;” 1 sent and got two bottles of it, and commenced taking it. in two weeks, to my great astonishment, my sores all be came easy, and I could sleep all night, a thing 1 had not done for two years. When 1 had taken six bot tles, niv sores had nearly all healed. My sore got | well as if by enchantment. I have now used in all eight bottles of your “ Extract of Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla,” and I now consider mysel well. I entreat all of the afflicted to try ibis medicine, • for 1 believe it will cure any known disease in the world. Lay aside all prejudice and just try it, and ■ proclaim its great worth to suffering mankind, and entreat them to take it, for it will cure them. Mv case is well known in a large portion of Sontli ! Carolina, Georgia and Alabama, and if any should ■ doubt the above cure, 1 invite them to call on me, and I will show them the scars. I can be found in Tallepoosa county, Ala.,one mile from Stoe’s Ferry BKNAJAH HUGHES.* The Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla is peculiarly adapted for females of delicate health, resulting from irregularity of menstrual discharges, and oth er diseases peculiar to their sex. The proprietor has in his possession a great number of certificates of cures performed, of the above description. We ; assure the afflicted, that a bottle or two of Dr. Guv sott’s Extract of Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla will at once regulate those difficulties, amrrenew the natural energies.
