Opposition to High Freight Tariffs ! Office of tub Fashion Line, ) Augusta, April 15, 1854. f flip HE subscriber would respectfully call the M aattentiou of the Merchants throughout Geor gia, Tennessee, Alabama, and South Carolina, to t o Savannah •River, aa a safe, expeditious and cheap route for the transportation of their Merchan dise. By comparing the freight tariffs of this line with those of the South Carolina, and Central, and W aynesboro’ Railroads, it will show a result in fa vor of this route of from 80 to 50 percent., geuer al'y, and in some instances a greater per centage. By this route a merchant receives oa; ;i shipment of his Goods together; they aro not (tiled by bi:n as they generally are by Railroad- nnecting with the seaboard, with a list of char. • attached to each nackage. In addition to the present force of tui« line, an other new Boat, of light draught of water, will be added during the coming summer. These boats will leave Savannah after the discharge of the New Y rfc and Philadelphia Steamships, twice or three time* a week, delivering those Goods at this point in FIVE DAYS. From the present low tariff of this hue a deduc tion of 13>£ per cent, will be allowed ou all bills from this dat*. Give the river more busine**, and a cheaper freight y*t await* you. All goods from tha seaboard should be directed ! to M. A. COHEN, Savannah, and produce from the interior to JNO. A. MOORE,, Augusta. The nature of this Improvement consists of the increase of power about 20 per cent, ami reducing the weight of the Engine one-half. The saving of fuel is effected by letting the steam in on both sides of the cylinder; doubling the size of the port, and balancing the pressure, removing the friction and weight of the slide valves, eccentrics, cross heads, connecting j rods, £c. The exceeding simplicity of this Engine, j renders it much more durable and easily managed than any other, and when placed upon the boiler | with wheels it is portable though effective. GUYSOTT’S YELLOW DOCK AND SARSAPARILLA. IS now put up in the largest sized bottles, and is ! acknowledged to be the best Sarsaparilla made, I as is certified by the wonderful cures it has per- i formed, the original copies of which are in the pos session of the proprietor. Remember, this is the only true and original article. Scrofula, Syphilis, Mercurial Complaints, Cancer, j Gangrene, Rheumatism, and a vast variety of other j diseases are speedily and perfectly cured By the use of this medicine. Head, the/Mowing Certificate; Tallapoosa Co., Ai.a., Jan. 2, 1855. Dear Sir—l send you this to certify to you that | your Extract of Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla has j ! performed one of the most wonderful cures on me i that has ever been effected on man. I have been afflicted for forty years~with erup- j tions on my legs and feet; in 1848 they got so bad , that I had to go on crutches, and in 1549 I hud one leg amputated above the knee. In about nine , j months after my other leg broke out in large eating ! ! and running sores, from my knee to my foot, and I i discharged a great deal of offensive matter. My ; groin also broke out in large biles, which discharg 1 ed much offensive matter, and at the same time mv left hand broke out in large running sores nearly to my elbow. The misery that I have suffered for the last two i years, I cannot describe to you. I was in such ag ! ! ouv that I never rested day or night, j In October last, mv son brought me one of your bottle wrappers; I read it, a id found record of some wonderful cures performed ’>y vour “Extract of i I Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla;" I sent and got two : bottles of it, and commenced taking it. In two • weeks, to my great astonishment, my sores all be- i i came easy, ami I could sleep all night, a thing I had ■ j not done for two years. When I had taken six bot , ties, my sores had nearly all healed. My sore got well as if by enchantment. I have now used in all eight bottles of your “ Extract of Yellow Dock and i ! Sarsaparilla," and I now consider mysel well. I entreat all of the afflicted to try this medicine, : for I believe it will cure any known disease in the world. Lay aside all prejudice and just try it, and ; i proclaim its great worth to suffering mankind, and ; i entreat them to take it, for it will cure them. My ease is well known in a large portion of Sonth , Carolina, Georgia and Alabama, and if any should j j doubt the above cure, I invite them to call on me, I | and I will show them the scars. I can be found in | Tallepoosa county, Ala.,one mile from Stoe’s Ferry BENAJAII HUGHES. ; The Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla is peculiarly ! adapted for females of delicate health, resulting j from irregularity of menstrual discharges, and oth 'er diseases peculiar to their sex. The proprietor has in his possession a great number of certificates of cures performed, of the above description. We assure the afflicted, that a bottle or two of Dr. Guv sott’s Extract of Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla will at once regulate those difficulties, and.renew the j natural energies.
