By this route a merchant receives each shipment
of his Goods together; they are not retailed by j
bun as they generally are by Railroads -meeting
with the seaboard, with a list of chare s attached
to each package.
In addition to the present force of this iine, an

added during the coming summer. These boats :
■tvill leave Savannah after the discharge of the New
York and Philadelphia Steamships, twice or three
times ti week, delivering those Go'od* at this point
in FIVE DAY'S.
From the present low tariff of this line a deduc- i
itouof 12 ; £ per cent, will be allowed on ail bills
from this date. Give the river more business, and
a cheaper freight yet awaits you.
AU goods from the seaboard should be directed !

REED’S PATENT CHRONOMETER
ENGINE.
THIS is an improved Steam Engine, for which
Letters Patent were granted to John A. Reed,
of New York, January 9,1855. The nature of this j
Improvement consists of the increase of power
about 20 per cent, and reducing the weight of the ;
Engine one-half. The saving of fuel is effected by i
letting the steam in on both sides of the cylinder; !
doubling the size of the port, and balancing the
pressure, removing the friction and weight of the \
slide valves, eccentrics, cross heads, connecting ;
rods, Ac. The exceeding simplicity of this Engine,
renders it much more durable and easily managed
than any other, at i when placed upon the boiler j
with wheels it is portable though effective.
These Engines received the First Prize Medal at
the great Exhibition in Paris. There are about
Seventy-five of them now in operation, all giving
great satisfaction.

ROGERS’ LIVERWORT AND TAR,
FOR the complete cure of Coughs, Colds, In
fiuenza, Asthma, Bronchitis, Spitting of Blood,
and all other Lung Complaint* tending to Con
' sumption.
i This preparation is getting into use all oyer the
country. The numerous letters we receive from
j our various agents, informing us of cures effected
in their immediate neighborhoods, warrant us in
saying it is one of the best, if not the very best
i Cough Medicine now before the public. It almost
j invariably relieves and not (infrequently cures the
! very worst case. When all other Cough prepara
tions have failed, this has relieved the patient, as
I Druggists, dealers in Medicines, and Physicians
| can testify. Ask the Agent in your nearest town,
i what lias been his experience of the effects of this
medicine. If he has been selling it for any length
> of time, be will tell you it is the best Medicine ex
• tant.
Below we give a few extract* from letters we
have received lately regarding the virtue* of this
; Medicine:
Dr. S. S. Oslin, of Knoxville, Ga., says: I have
1 been using your Liverwort and Tar very'extensive
ly in my practice for three years past, and it is with
1 pleasure I state mv belief in its superiority over all
other articles with which I am acquainted, for
which it is recommended.
Messrs. Fitzgerald & Benners, writing from
Waynesville, N. C., say: “The Liverwort and Tar
is becoming daily more popular in this country,
and we think justlv so. All who have tried it
i speak iu commendaVile terms of it, and say it is
: very beneficial iu alleviating the complaints for
which it is recommended.”
! Our Agent in Pickens District, S. C., Mr. S. R.
McFall, assures us “ that be uses it with great ben
: elit in his own family, and recommends it to his
neighbors.” He gives an instance of a Negro wo
man, in his vicinity, who had been suffering with
: disease of the Lungs for years, attended with se
vere cough, who was relieved by the Liverwort A
i Tar.
Such are the good reports we hear of this Medi
j cine from all parts of the South. For a report of
| the surprising cures it has performed in the West-
I ern, and Northern and Eastern States, we would in
i vite the suffering patient to read the pamphlet
i which accompanies each bottle. To all, we say,
’ have hope, have hope!
Try the Medicine! Be warned in season! And
i ueglect not that cough which is daily weakening
| your coustitution, irritating your throat and lungs,
; and inviting on that dread disease, Consumption,
when so soothing and healing a remedy can be ob
tairied as Dr. Rogers’ Syrup of Liverwort and Tar.
| Beware of Counterfeits and base imitations!
The genuine is signed Andrew Rogers ou the
engraved wrapper around each bottle.

Head the following Certificate:
Tallapoosa Co., Ai.a., Jan. 2, 1855.
Dear Sir— l send you this to certify to you that
your Extract of Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla has
performed oue of the most wonderful cure* on me
that has ever been effected on man.
I have been afflicted for forty year* with erup
tions on my legs and feet; in 13-fs they got so bad
i that I had to go on crutches, and in 1849 1 had one
leg amputated above the knee. In about nine
mouths after my other leg broke out iu large eating
and running sores, from my knee to my foot, amt
discharged a great deal of offensive matter. My
groin aiso broke out in large biles, which discharg
ed much offensive matter, and at the same time mv
left hand broke out iu large running *oro# nearly
to my elbow.
The misery that I have suffered for the last two j
| years, I cannot describe to you. I was in #uch ag j
onv that I never rested day or night.
In October last, my son brought me one of your i
■ bottle wrappers; l road it, a id found record of some
wonderful cures performed by vour “Extract of :
Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla;” 1 sent and got two ,
Ijottl -* of it, and commenced taking it. In two i
weeks, to my great astonishment, my sore* all be
came easy, and I could sleep all night, a thing 1 had ;
j not done for two rear*. Yv hen 1 had taken six hot- !
, ties, my sores had nearly all healed. My sore got i
well as if by enchantment. I have now used in all |
eight bottles of your “ Extract of Yellow Dock and :
, Sarsaparilla,” and I now consider niysel well.
I entreat all of the afflicted to try this medicine,
for 1 believe it will cure any known disease in the
world. Lay aside ull prejudice and just try it, and
proclaim its great worth to suffering mankind, and j
entreat them to take it, for it will cure them.
My case is well known in a large portion of South !
Carolina, Georgia and Alabama, and if anv should ■
doubt the above cure, 1 invite them to call on me, 1
and l will show them the scars. 1 can be found in
Tallapoosa county, Ala., oue mile from Sloe's Ferry
BEN A.) All HUGHES. j
The Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla is peculiarly j
adapted for females of delicate health, resulting i
from irregularity of menstrual discharges, aud otb- t
er diseases peculiar to their sex. The proprietor
has in his possession a great number of certificates
of cures performed, of the above description. We j
assure the afflicted, that a bottle or two of Dr. Guv- 1
sou’s Extract of Y ellow Dock and Sarsaparilla will
at once regulate those diiliculiies, the '
natural energies.
