SIMILIA, SIMILIBUS CURANTUR!
DR. THAYER, Homoeopathic Physician,
Surgeon and Accoucheur, late of Philadel
phia, would most respectfully inform the citizens \
of Augusta and vicinity, that lie is now located in
this city, and will at all'times be ready to attend to j
the various branches of his profession.
He would say to those who wish to avail them
selves of the tr I/oimenpathie system, that they can
do so by calling, or leaving anote at his office. He
has thoroughly tested ail the old systems of prac
tice, and after much study and long deliberation,
become convinced that the law of Sonina, Simili
hus Curantur is the only way by which remedial
agents can be applied to the system to assist na
ture in repelling and throwing off disease.
Owing to a report extant, that our charges are j
high, we deem it a duty, not only to ourselves, but
to the community, to say that our charges, within !
the city, are o.nk dollar per visit, with the usual :
mileage when we go beyond. Those who desire !
the system of practise, and not able to pay, shall
receive the same attention.
Particular attention paid to the treatment of
CHRONIC DISEASES.
A supply of PURE MEDICINES constantly on
hand, prepared under our direct supervision.

FREE TRADE AND NO MONOPOLY.
Opposition to High Freight Tariffs!
Office of the Fashion Link, i
Augusta, April 15, 1854. j
r Ssll E subscriber would respectfully call the
] B. aatteution of the Merchants throughout Geor
gia, Tennessee, Alabama, and South Carolina, to
tiie Savannah River, as a safe, expeditious and
cheap route for the transportation of their Mercliaii
j dise.
By comparing the freight tariffs of this line with
' those of the South Carolina, aud Central, and
Waynesboro’ Railroads, it will show a result in fa
vor of this route of from 30 to 50 percent., gener
• ally, and in some instances a greater percentage.
By this route a merchant receives each shipment j
of his Goods together; they are not retailed bv j
! him as they generally are by Railroads connecting >
j with the seaboard, with a list of charges attached
i to each package.
In addition to the present force of this line, an- j
| other new Boat, of light draught of water, will lie !
added during the coming summer. These boats j
" ill leave Savannah after the discharge of the New j
York and Philadelphia Steamships, twice or three I
times a week, delivering those Goods at this point i
iu FIVE DAYS.
From the present low tariff of this line a deduc
tion of 12per cent, will be allowed on all bills i
from this date. Give the river more business, and i
a cheaper freight vet awaits yon.
All goods from the seaboard should be directed
to M. A. COHEN, Savannah, i
and produce front the interior to
JNO. A. MOORE,, Augusta. I
To the manufacturing portion of Georgia, as well j
as to the Cotton Merchants, and dealers generally,
on the line of Railroads through Georgia aud Teu
; nessee, who ship to Savannah and Northern mar
: kets, this route offers very favorable inducements.
To facilitate shipments, as well as to prevent er- 1
rors, bills of lading should be forwarded to M. A.
COHEN, at Savannah, for all goods from seaboard. 1
JNO. A. MOORE.
In case of low river, all goods consigned to this
! line, will be forwarded by Central, and connecting

ODYSOTT’S YELLOW DOCK AND
SARSAPARILLA.
IS now put up in the largest sized bottles, and is j
acknowledged to be the best Sarsaparilla made, |
as is certified hr the wonderful cures it has per- j
formed, the original copies of which are in the pos- i
session of the proprietor. Remember, this is the
only true and original article.
Scrofula, Syphilis, Mercurial Complaints, Cancer, \
Gangrene, Rheumatism, and a vast variety of other j
diseases are speedily and perfectly cured by the use
of this medicine.
Head the foUowvng Certificate :
Tallapoosa Co., Ala., Jan. 2, 1855.
Dear Sir —l send you this to certify to you that j
your Extract of Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla has
performed one of the most wonderful cures on me
that has ever been effected on man.
I have been afflicted for forty yearsjViih erup
tions on my legs and feet; in 1848 they got so bad
that I had to go on crutches, and in 184'.t I had one
leg amputated above the knee. In about nine
months after my other leg broke out in large eating
and running sores, from nay knee to my foot, and
discharged a great deal of offensive matter. My
groin also broke out in large biles, which discliarg
ed much offensive matter, and at the same time mv
left hand broke out in large running sores nearly
to my elbow.
The misery that I have suffered for the last two
years, I cannot describe to you. L was in such ag
ony that I never rested day or night.
In October last, my son brought me one of your
bottle wrappers; I read it, a id found record of some
wonderful cures performed by your “Extract of
Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla;” 1 sent and got two
bottles of it, and commenced taking it. In two
weeks, to my great astonishment, my sores all be
came easy, and I could sleep all night, a thing I had
not done for two years. When I had taken six bot
tles, mv sores had nearly all healed. My sore got
; well as if by enchantment. I have now used in all
eight bottles of your “ Extract of Yellow Dock and
Sarsaparilla,” and I now consider mysel well.
I entreat all of the afflicted to try this medicine,
for I believe it will cure any known disease in the
world. Lay aside all prejudice and just try it, and
proclaim its great worth to suffering mankind, and
entreat them to take it, for it will cure them.
My case is well known in a large portion of South
Carolina, Georgia and Alabama, and if any should
doubt the above cure, I invite them to call on me,
I and I will show them the scars. 1 can be found in
j Tallepoosa county, Ala., one mile from Stoe’s Ferry
BENAJAH HUGHES.
The Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla is peculiarly
! adapted for females of delicate health, resulting
\ from irregularity of menstrual discharges, and oth-
I er diseases peculiar to their sex. The proprietor
| has in his possession a great number of certificates
of cures performed, of the above description. We
assure the afflicted, that a bottle or two of Dr. Guy
sott’s Extract of Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla will
' at once regulate those difficulties, andjrenew the
I natural energies.
Put up in quart bottles—Price *1 per bottle.
