SIMILIA, SIMILIBUS CURANTUR!
nit. THAYER, Homoeopathic Physician,
Surgeon and Accoucheur, late of Philadel
phia, would most respectfully inform the citizens
of Augusta and vicinity, that he is now located in
this citv, and will at all times be ready to attend to
the various branches of his profession.
He would say to those who wish to avail them
selves of the irut Ihmceopathie system, that they can
do so by calling, or leaving a note at his office. He
has thoroughly tested all the old systems of prac
tice, and after much study and long deliberation,
become convinced that the law of Similia, Sitnili
bus Curantur is the only way by which remedial
agents can be applied to the system to assist na
ture in repelling and throwing off disease.
Owing to a report extant, that our charges are
high, we deem it a duty, not only to ourselves, but
to the community, to say that our charges, within
the city, are one ooi.i. ut putt visit, with the usual
mileage when we go beyond. Those who desire
the system of practise, and notable to pay, shall
receive the same attention.
Particular attention paid to the treatment of
CHRONIC DISEASES.
A supply of PURE MEDICINES constantly on
hand, prepared under our direct supervision.

FREE TRADE AND NO MONOPOLY.
Opposition to High Freight Tariffs!
Office of the Fashion Line, )
Augusta, April 15, 1854. j
fgpHE subscriber would respectfully call the
« auttentionof the Merchants throughout Geor
gia, Tennessee, Alabama, and South Carolina, to
; tiie Savannah River, as a safe, expeditious and
I cheap route for the transportation of their Merchan
i disc.
By comparing the freight tariffs of this line with
those of the South Carolina, and Central, and
1 Waynesboro’ Railroads, it will show a result in fa
vor of this route of from 30 to 50 percent., gener
ally, and in some instances a greater per centage.
i>y this route a merchant receives each shipment
of his Goods together; they are not retailed by
him as they generally are by Railroads connecting
with the seaboard, with a list of charges attached
to each package.
in addition to the present force of this line, an
other new Boat, of light draught of water, will be
> added during the coining summer. These boats
; will leave Savannah after the discharge of the New
! York and Philadelphia Steamships, twice or three
. times a week, delivering those Goods at this point
in FIVE DAYS.
From lhe present low tariff of this line a deduc
j lion of 1234 pef cent, will be allowed on all bills
front this date. Give the river more business, and
a cheaper freight yet awaits von.
All goods from the seaboard should be directed
to M. A. COHEN, Savannah,
and produce from the interior to
JNO. A. MOORE,, Augusta.
To the manufacturing portion of Georgia, as well
as to the Cotton Merchants, and dealers generally
on the line of Railroads through Georgia and Teu
tiessee, who ship to Savannah and Northern mar
kets, this route offers very- favorable inducements. ;
To facilitate shipments,’as well as to prevent er
rors, bills of lading should be forwarded to M. A. j
COHEN, at Savannah, for all goods from seaboard !
JNO. A. MOORE.
Incase of losv river, all goods consigned to this I

GUYSOTT’ S YELLOW DOCK AND |
SARSAPARILLA.
IS now put up in the largest sized bottles, and is
acknowledged to be the best Sarsaparilla made, |
as is certitied by the wonderful cures it has per- ,
formed, the original copies of which are in the pos
session of the proprietor. Remember, this is the
only true and original article.
Scrofula, Syphilis, Mercurial Complaints, Cancer,
Gangrene, Rheumatism, and a vast variety of other
diseases are speedily and perfectly cured by the use
of this medicine.
Read the following Certificate:
Tallapoosa Co., Ala., Jan. 2, 1855.
Dear Sir —1 send you this to certify to you that
your Extract of Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla has
performed one of the most wonderful cures on me
that has ever been effected on man.
I have been afflicted for forty yearsfwith erup- j
tions on my legs and feet; in 1848 they got so bad j
that 1 had to go on crutches, and in 184‘J 1 had one
leg amputated above the knee. In about nine !
months after my other leg broke out in large eating
and running sores, from my knee to niv toot, and i
discharged a great deal of offensive matter. My |
groin also broke out in large biles, which discharg j
ed much offensive matter, and at the same time mv j
left hand broke out in large running sores nearly j
to my elbow.
The misery that I have suffered for the last two
years, I cannot describe to you. I was in such ag
onv that 1 never rested day or night.
In October last, my son brought me one of your
bottle wrappers; I read it, a id found record of some
wonderful cures performed by vour “Extract of
Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla;” 1 sent and got two
bottles of it, and commenced taking it. In two
weeks, to my great astonishment, my sores all be
came easy, and I could sleep all night, a thing I had
not done for two years. When I had taken six bot
tles, my sores had nearly all healed. My sore got
well as if by enchantment. I have now used in all
eight bottles of your “ Extract of Yellow Dock and
Sarsaparilla,” and 1 now consider mysel well.
I entreat all of the afflicted to try this medicine,
for 1 believe it will cure anv known disease in the
world. Lay aside all prejudice and just try it, and
proclaim its great worth to suffering mankind, and
entreat them to take it, for it. will cure them.
My case is well known in a large portion ofSonth
Carolina, Georgia and Alabama, and if any should
doubt the above cure, I invite them to call on me,
and 1 will show them the scars. 1 can be found in
Tallepoosa county, Ala.,one mile from Stoe’s Ferry
BENAJAII HUGHES.
The Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla is peculiarly
adapted for females of delicate health, resulting
from irregularity of menstrual discharges, and oth
er diseases peculiar to their sex. The proprietor
has in his possession a great number of certificates
!of cures performed, of the above description. We
i assure the afflicted, that a bottle or two of Dr. Guy
! sott’s Extract of Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla will
■ j at once regulate those difficulties, andjrenew the
I natural energies.
Put up in quart bottles—Price #1 per bottle.
