FREE TRADE AND NO MONOPOLY.
Opposition to High Freight Tariff's!
Office of the Fashion Line, )
Augusta, April 15, 1854. f
’SnilE subscriber would respectfully call the
**. aattention of the Merchants throughout Geor
| gia, Tennessee, Alabama, and South Carolina, to
I the Savannah River, as a safe, expeditious and
j ci.eap route for the transportation of their Merchan
! dise.
By comparing the freight tariffs of this iine with
! those of the Sou h Carolina, and Cewral, and
| Waynesboro’ Railroads, it will show a result’iu fa
) vur of inis route of from 3 to 00 per cent., gener
j ally, and in some instances a greater per eenutge.
By this route a merchant receives each shipment
j of his Goods together; they are not retailed by
! him as they generally are bv Railroads connecting
1 with the seaboard, with a list of charges attached
j to each package.
In addition to the present force of this line, an
other new Boat, of light draught of water, will be
added during the coming summer. These boats
will leave Savannah after the discharge of *he New
York and Philadelphia Steamships, twice or three
times a week delivering those Goods at this point
in FIVE DAYS.
From the present low tariff’of this line a deduc
tion of 12>£ per cent, will be allowed on all bills
from this date. Give the river more business, aud
a cheaper freight yet awaits you.
All goods from the seaboard should be directed
to M. A. COHEN, Savannah,
and produce from the interior to •
JNO. A. MOORE,, Augusta.
To the manufacturing portion of Georgia, as well
j as to the Cotton Merchants, and dealers generally,
on the line of Railroads through Georgia’and Teit
; nessee. who ship to Savannah and Northern mar
; kets, this route offers very favorable inducements.
To facilitate shipments, as well as to prevent er- i
rot s, bills of lading should be forwarded to M, A. I

SIMILIA, SIMILIBUS CURANTUR!
DR. THAYER, Homoeopathic Physician,
Surgeon and Accoucheur, late ol Philadel
phia, would most respectfully inform the citizens
of Augusta and vicinity, that he is now located in
this city, and will at all times be ready to attend to
the various branches of his profession.
He would say to those who wish to avail them
selves of the true Hommmikk system, that they can
do so by calling, or leaving a note at his office. He
has thoroughly tested all the old systems of prac
tice, and after much study and long deliberation,
become convinced that the law of SimUia, Simili
bus Curantur is the only way by which remedial
agents can be applied to the system to assist na
ture in repelling and throwing off disease.
Owing to a report extant, that our charges are
high, we deem it a duty, not only to ourselves, but
to the community, to say that our charges, within
the city, are one dollar pee visit, with the usual
mileage when we go beyond. Those who desire
the system of practise, and not able to pay, shall
receive the same attention.

of this medicine.
Hi ad the f< mowing Certificate:
Tallapoosa Co., Ai.a., Jan. 2, 1855.
Dear Sir—l send you this to certify to you that
i your Extract of Yellow Dock aud Sarsaparilla has
I performed one of the most wonderful cures on me
i that has ever been effected on man.
I have been afflicted for forty years/with erup
; tions on my legs and feet; in 1848 they got so bad
j that I had to go on crutches, and in IS-it* I had one
leg amputated above the knee. In about nine
j months after my other leg broke out in large eating
i and running sores, from my knee to mv foot, and
I discharged a great deal of offensive matter. My i
! groin also broke out in large biles, which discharg
[ ed much offensive matter, and at the same time my
I left hand broke out in large running sores nearly
1 to my elbow.
The misery that I have suffered for the last two
! years, I cannot describe to you. I was in such ag
| onv that I never rested day or night.
] In October last, my son brought me one of your
j bottle wrappers; I read it, a id found record of some
i wonderful cures performed >y your “Extract of
I Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla,” 1 sent and got two
j bottles of it, and commenced taking it. In two
: weeks, to my great astonishment, my sores all be-
I came easy, and 1 could sleep all night, a thing I had
! not done for two years. \V hen I had taken six bot
tles, my sores had nearly all healed. My sore got
j well as if by enchantment. I have now used in all
eight bottles of your “ Extract of Yellow Dock and
i Sarsaparilla,” and I now consider mysel well.
I entreat all of the afflicted to try this medicine,
j for I believe it will cure any known disease in the
i world. Lay aside all prejudice and just trv it, and
j proclaim its great worth to suffering mankind, and
j entreat them to take it, for it will cure them.
My case is well known in a large portion of South
| Carolina, Georgia and Alabama, and if any should
: doubt the above cure, I invite them to call on me
; and I will show them the scars. I can he found in
! Tallepoosa county, Ala., one mile from Stoe’s Ferry
BEX AJ AH HUGHES.
I The Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla is peculiarly
! adapted for females of delicate health, resulting
I from irregularity of menstrual discharges, and oth-
I er diseases peculiar to their sex. The proprietor
has in his possession a great number of certificates
of cures performed, of the above description. We
assure the afflicted, that a bottle or two of Dr. Guv
sott’s Extract of Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla will j
at once regulate those difficulties, and.renow the
natural energies.
Put up in quart bottles— Price $1 per bottle.
