FREE TRADE AND NO MONOPOLY.
Opposition to High Freight Tariffs!
Office ok the Fashion Link, 1
Augusta, April 15, 1854. (
fHAIIE subscriber would respectfully call the
ra aattciition of the Merchants throughout Geor
gia, Tennessee, Alabama, and South Carolina, to
the Savannah River, as a safe, expeditious and
cheap route for the transportation of their Merchan
i disc.
Bv comparing the freight tariffs of this line with
those of the South Carolina, and Central, and
Wavnesboro’ Railroads, it will show a result in fa
vor of this route of from 30 to 50 per cent., gener
ally, and in some instances a greater per centage.
By this route a merchant receives each shipment
: of his Goods together; they are not retailed by
! him as they generally are by Railroads connecting
with the seaboard, with a list of charges attached
: to each package. *
In addition to the present force of this line, an
| other new Boat, of light draught of water, will he
; added during the coming summer. These boats
will leave Savannah after the discharge of the New
York and Philadelphia Steamships, twice or three
times a week, delivering those Goods at this point
in FIVE DAYS.
From the present low tariff of this line a dedue
j lion of 121.2 per cent, will be allowed on all bills
from tliis date. Give the river more business, and
a cheaper freight yet awaits you.
All goods from the seaboard should he directed
to M. A. COHEN, Savannah,
and produce from the interior to

To the manufacturing portion of Georgia, as well
as to the Cotton Merchants, and dealers generally,
on the line of Railroads through Georgia and Ten

To facilitate shipments, as well as to prevent er

their virtues, by Professors, Physicians and Patients,
has shown cures of dangerous diseases almost beyond
belief, were they not substantiated by persons of such
exalted position and character as to forbid the.suspicion

Fob Costiveness —Take one or two Pills, or such
quantity as to gently move the bowels. Costiveness is
frequently the aggravating cause of Piles, and thecure
of one complaint is the cure of both. No person can

it should be. as it can be, promptly relieved.
Fob Rvspepsia, which is sometimes the cause of l os

from one to four—to stimulate the stomach and liver
into healthy action. They will do it, and the heartburn,
bodyburn and soulburn of dyspepsia will rapidly disap

For a Fopl Stomach, or Morbid Inaction of the
Bowels, which produces general depression of the spir

and smaller doses afterwards, until activity and strength
is restored to the system.

seemed to saturate the whole system, have completely
yielded to their inUuence, leaving the sufferer in perfect
