the Savannah River, as a safe, expeditions and
cheap route for the transportation of their Merchan

By comparing the freight tariffs of this line with
those of the South Carolina, and Central, and
Waynesboro’ Railroads, i( will show a result in fa
vor of this route of from 3u to 50 percent., gener
ally', and in some instances a greater per centnge.
By this route a merchant receives each shipment
of his Goods together; they are not retailed by
hint as they generally- are bv Railroads connecting
yvith the seaboard, with a list of charges attached
to each package.
In addition to the present force of this lino, an
other new Bout, of light draught of yy-ater, yvill be
added during the coming summer. These boats
yvill leave Savannah after the discharge of the New
Y’ork and Philadelphia Steamships, tyvice or three
times a week, delivering those Goods at this point
in FIVE DAY’S.
From the present low tariff of this line a deduc
tion of 12)5 per cent, yvill be allowed on all bills
from this date. Give the river more business, and
a cheaper freight yet ayvaits you.
All goods from the seaboard should be directed
to M. A. COHEN, Savannah,
and produce from the interior to
JNO. A. MOORE., Augusta.
To the manufacturing portion of Georgia, as well
as to the Cotton Merchants, and dealers generally-,
on the line of Railroads through Georgia and Ten

To facilitate shipments, as well as to prevent er

AYER’S CATHARTIC PILLS
OPERATE by their powerful
influence on the internal
viscera to purify the blood and
stimulate it into healthy action. / A
They remove the obstructions of I
the stomach, bowels, liver, and
other organs of the body, and, t .'fm p'.'llr
byrestoring their irregular ac- /eft’n iXL,
tion to health, correct, wherev-
er they exist, such deraugements ta»u«Biiißiamai»iiMa«Kiiua»M I
as are the first causes of disease. An extensive trial of
their virtues, by Professors, Physicians and Patients,
has shown cures of dangerous diseases almost beyond
belief, were they not substantiated by persons of such
exalted position and character as to forbid the suspicion
of untruth. Their certific\tes are published in my
American Almanac, which the Agents below named are
pleased to furnish free to all inquiring.
Annexed we give Directions for their use in the com
plaints which they have been found to cure.
Fob Costiveness —Take one or two Pills, or such
quantity as to gently move the bowels. Costiveness is
frequently the aggravating cause of Piles, and the cure
of one complaint is the cure of both. No person can
feel well while under a costive habit of body. Hence
it should be. as it can be. promptly relieved.
Fob Dvspepsia, which is sometimes the cause of ( os
tiveness and alwavs uncomfortable, take mild doses—
from one to four—to stimulate the stomach and liver
into healthy action. They will do it, ami the heartburn ,
j bodyburn and soulburn of dyspepsia will rapidly disap
pear. When it lias gone, don t forget what cured you.
For a Foci. Stomach, or Morbid Inaction oj the
Bowels, which produces general depression of the spir
it.- and bad health, take from four to eight Pills at first,
am' smaller doses afterwards, until activity and strength
| is restored to the system. . ,
Fob Nervousness. Hick Heaoache, N auska, r ain
j in the Stomach, Back , or Side, take trom four to eight
Pills on going to bed. If they do not operate sufficients
ly, take moio the next day until they do. These com
plaints will be swept out from tho system. Don't wear
: these and their kindred disorders because y r our stomach
I is foul.
Fob Scrofula. Erysipelas, and all Diseases of the
Slcin. take the Pills freely aod frequently, to keep the
; bowels open. The eruptions will generally soon begin
! to diminish and disappear. Many dreadful ulcers a’d
j sores have been healed up by the purging and purifying
effect of these Pills, and some disgusting diseases which
j seemed to saturate the whole system, have completely
yielded to their influence, leaving the sufferer in perfect
I health. Patients! your duty to society forbids that you
i should parade yourself around the world covered with
pimples, blotches, ulcers, sores, and all or any of the
unclean diseases of the skin, because your system wants
i cleans ng. . .
To Pcßirv the Blood, they are the best medicine
i ever discovered They should be taken freely and fre
j quently, and the impurities which sow- the seeds of in
curable diseases, will be swept out of the system like
chaff before the wind By this property they do as much
j good in preventing sickness as by the remarkable cures
which thev are making everywhere.
Liver Complaint, Jaundice, and all Bilious Affec
tions arise from some derangement—either torpidity,
i congestion, or obstructions of the Liver. Torpidity and
[ congestion vitiate the bile ,vd render it unlit for diges
tion. This is disastrous to the health, and the consti
tution is frequently undermined by no other cause. In
j digest’on is the symptom. Obstruction of the duct
j which empties th» bile into the stomach causes the bile
i to overflow into the blood. This produces Jaundice,
with a long and dangerous train of evils. Costiveness,
or alternately costiveness and diarrhoea, prevails. Fe
verish symptoms, languor, low spirits, weariness, rest
; lessness and melancholy, with sometimes inability to
j sleep, and sometimes great drowsiness; sometimes there
i is severe pain in the side ; the skin and the white of the
, eyes become a greenish yellow ; the stomach acid; the
! bowels sore to the touch; the whole systemirriL.be,
i with a tendency to fever, which may turn to bilious fe
! ver, bilious colic, bilious diarrhoea, dysentery,&c. A
medium dose of three or four Pills taken at night, fol
. lowed by two or three in the morning, and repeated a
; few days, will remove the cause of all these troub o.
It is wicked to suffer such pains when you can cure
i them for 25 cents.
Rheumatism, Gout, and all Inflammatory Ferr-rs
are rapidly cived by the purifying effects of these Pills
upon the blood and" the stimulus which they afford to
the vital principle of Life. F r the.-e and all kindred
■ complaints, they should be taken in mild doses, to move
the bowels gently, but freely.
As a Dinner Fill, this is both agreeable and useful.
No Pill can he made mere pleasant to take, and cer
tainly none lias been made more effectual to the pur
pose for which a Dinner Pill is employed.

HOW DISEASED ACTION BECOMES ESTABLISHED
AND THE BLOOD IMPURE.
A great eiror has long prevailed in the minds of me :
, ical meu, *■ That Impurity of the Blood is the Cau.-c „f
Diseased Action." This is a serious mi-take. Iti S j
disturbance of the circulation, and the establishment of
diseased action, that causes impurity of the Wool
The R. R. R. theory holds the truth of the above maj.
ims, for if a person be iu a state of perfect health, each
artery and vein must carry to and from the heart i‘ i
allotted proportion of blood, and when any set of yes.
sels refu.-e ,be the cause what it may) to carry their
; proportion, the current of blood becomes dammed up- -
in other words, a congestion takes place, giring pain *.,
a greater or less extent Here, then, is the beginning
of diseased action, which, if not lelieved. will soon run
into inflammation, and the disease becomes established
Diseased action being once established, the blood be
comes impure, and the regularity of action on the part
of the Liver. Skin, Boweis. Ac , is sure to be interru,
ed and the general system, by sympathising with the
local complaint, becomes involved in the difficulty. That
this is the true state of the case, let any one ca’l to rair t
his symptoms on catching cold. The local difficulty may
be a sore throat, which is a congestion of the Mood,
amounting (sometiires) to an inflammation about the
throat, owing to a previous deranged state ofthecir
| culatiou. and he will remember that his bowels become
costive, bis liver deranged, or his skin dry. and his blood
impure Had he used Railway's Ready Relief when the
congestion was retting in,as an application to the throat.
and swallowed a dose of the Regulators, he would have
broken up the congestion, and restored the regularity
■ on the part of the liver. »kin. bowels. Ac. which had
: beer broken in upon by the effects of the sore throat,
Regular ty being gain established, the impure blood is

READ HER LETTER.
♦ January •’>. 1856.
Messrs. Radway A Co—l tried your Ready Relief,
and bad my joints rubbed with it, and I never felt pan
after the first ten minutes. I was rubbed with it, up to
the preheat time. Sirs, Ido not know what to compare
it to but a charm ; for it is a mystery to me. I was a
cripple for two years, and had not the proper use of my
limbs for three years I was worn down t.> a skeleton. 1
1 then commenced the use of your Ready Relief. Resob
} vent and Regulators. The pain left me in ten minute*,
j and I b gan to gain strength very fast, and could walk
with ease in a few weeks Before I heard of vour Rem
edies, I was taken to Dr. Parker. Dr. lteese, Dr Wardl*?,
Dr. Maclelan, and many other physicians in this city. I
f cannot now remember. I was completely pulled to pieces
1 by them. My constitution was broken up with medi
cines that did me no good. I could not put a foot to
the ground. »or pick up a pin. I was lifted and t arried
up and down stairs like an infant; and now. thank God*
by the u eof your Remedies. I am as strong as ever. I
had the common rheumatism—imilainmniory and
1 chronic—and the palsy. You can publish this if yea
