Okitick of tuk Fashion Line, I
Acgcsta, April 15, 1854. f
f|YIIE subscriber would respectfully call the |
Ji- aattention of the Merchants throughout Qeor
■ gia, Tennessee, Alabama, and South Carolina, to ,
, the Savannah River, as a safe, expeditious and
r cheap route for the transportation of their Merchan
dise.
? By comparing (he freight tariffs of this line with i
those of the South Carolina, and Central, and j
Waynesboro’ Railroads, it will show a result in fa- j
. vor of this route of from 3o to 50 per cent., geuer- 1
: till v. and in some instances a greater per centage.
By this route a merchant receives each shipment
> ' of his Goods together; thev are not retailed by
him as they generally are by Railroads connecting
! with the seaboard, with a list of charges attached
: to each package.
j In addition to the present force of this line, an- ;
other new Boat, of light draught of water, will be !
| added during the coming summer. These boats '
j will leave Savannah after the discharge of the New '
Y’ork and Philadelphia Steamships, twice or three :
s | times a week, delivering those Goods at this point
> i in FIVE DAYS.
From the present low tariff of this line u dedtie
j tion of 12 ty per cent, will be allowed on all bills j
1 | from this date. Give the river more business, and
a cheaper freight yet awaits you.
All goods from the seaboard should be directed
| to M. A. COHEN, Savannah,
- and produce from the interior to
JNO. A. MOORE,, Augusta.
To the manufacturing portion of Georgia, as well
, as to the Cotton Merchants, and dealers generally,
on the line of Railroads through Georgia and Ten
nessee, who ship to Savannah and Northern mar- '
kels, this route offers very favorable inducements.
To facilitate shipments, as well as to prevent er
rors, bills of lading should be forwarded to M. A.
