AYER’S CATHARTIC PILLS
OPERATE by their powerful
influence on the internal K qjßleS
1 viscera to purify the blood and "T v
j stimulate it into healthy action. f
They remove the obstructions of V. £
the stomach, bowels, liver, and
other organs of the body, and, J —ESS\
by restoring their irregular ac
tion to health, correct, wherev- k3C
ier they exist, such derangements "" ll ™ ,
as are the first causes of disease. An extensive trial of ,
1 their virtues, by Professors, Physicians and Patients, j
1 has shown cures of dangerous diseases almost beyond ,
i belief, were they not substantiated by persons of such
exalted position and character as to forbid the suspicion
! of untruth. Their certificates are published in my
American Almanac, which the Agents below named are
; pleased to furnish free to all inquiring.
Annexed we give Directions for their use in the com- j
plaints which they have been found to cure. j
For Co.stivenks.s —Take one or two Pills, or such ,
j quantity as to gently move the bowels. Costiveness is |
i frequently the aggravating cause of Piles, and the cure
I of one complaint is the cure of both. No person can ;
feel well while under a costive habit of body. Hence
j it should be, as it can be, promptly relieved.
For Dyspepsia, which is sometimes the cause ot C-o.t- .
tiveness, and always uncomfortable, take mild lo'aw ,
from one to four—to stimulate the stomach and 1 ver .
into healthy action. They will do it, and the heartburn , ;
bodybvrn and soulburn of dyspepsia will rapidly disap- ,
pear. "When it has gone, don’t forget what cured you.
For a Foul Stomach, or Morbid Inaction of the i
Bowels, which produces general depression of the spir- ;
its and bad health, take from four to eight Pills at first, ;
aud smaller doses afterwards, until activity and strength i
is restored to the system. . i
.-.For Nervousness, Sick Headache, nausea,
in the Stomach , Back , or Side , take lrom tour to eight
Pills on going to bed. If they do not operate sufficient*
' ly, take nioie the next day until they do. T hose com- ;
[ 1 plaints will be swept out from the system. Don t wear
: these and their kindred disordei s because your stomach ,
lis foul. j. , j
For Scrofula, Erysipelas, and all Diseases of the
; Skin, take the Pills freely and frequently, to keep the j ,
i bowels open. The eruptions will generally soon begin .
! to diminish and disappear. Many dreadful ulcers aud
' ! sores have been healed up by the purging and pui dying .
’ i effect of these Pills, and some disgusting diseases wuieh j
! seemed to saturate the whole system, have completely ,
j yielded to their influence, leaving the sufferer ia perfect ;
health. Patients! your duty to society forbids that you >
should parade yourself around the world covered with
pimples, blotches, ulcers, sores, and all or any of the ,
- ' unclean diseases of the skin, because your system wants
1 | cleansing. .
To Purify thb Blood, they are the be-.t medicine
i ever discovered. They should be taken freely and fre- •
quentlv, and the impurities which sow llie seeds of in- i
curable diseases, will be swept out of the system like .
chaff before the wind. By this property they do as much
good in preventing sickness as by the remarkable cures
; which they are making everywhere,
i Liver Complaint. Jaundice, and alt Bilious Affec- l
a lions arise from some derangement—either torpidity,
j congestion, or obstructions ot the Liver. Torpidity and
' I congestion vitiate the bile and render it unfit for diges- ;
j tion. This is disastrous to the health, and the consti- j
tntion is frequently undermined by no other cause. In
: digestion i* the symptom. Obstruction of the duct 1
! which empties the bile iuto the ,- tomach causes the bile !
1 to overflow into the blood. This produces Jaundice, :
with a long and dangerous train cf evils. Costiveuess, .;
or alternately eostiveness and diarrhoea, prevails. Fe- ;
| verish symptoms, languor, low spirits, weariness, re t- .
■ ; lessness and melancholy, with sometimes inability to j
■ sleep, and sometimes great drowsiness: sometimes there I
. ' is severe pain in the side ; the skin and the white of the
| eyes become a greenish yellow; the stomach acid ; the
! bowels sore to the touch ; the whole system irritab e,
with a tendency to fever, which may turn to bilious fe- ,
j ver, bilious colic, bilious diarrhoea, dysentery, Ac. A
1 medium dose of three or four Pills taken at night, i'ol
• lowed by two or three in the morning, and repeated a
j few days, will remove the cause of all these troubles.
! ft is wicked to suffer such pains when you can euro
them for 25 cents.
Rheumatism, Holt, and all Inflammatoi y Pen it
r ! are rapidly cured by the purifying effects of these Pills
' upon the blood and the v: imulus which they afford to I
3 i the vital principle of Life, I- - . these and all kindred
V I complaints, they should he taken in mild doses, to move
S ' the bowels gently, but freely.
As a Dinner Pii i,, this is both agreeable and useful.
I No Pill can be made mere pleasant to take, and cer
; tainlv none haa been made more effectual to the pur

disturbance of the circulation, and the establishment of
diseased action, that causes impurity of the blood
The R. R. R. theory holds the truth of the above m:u
ims, for if a person be in a state of perfect health, each
artery and vain must carry to and from the heart i>-
allotted proportion of blood, and when any set of ve;
sets refuse ,be the cau.-e what it may) to carry theq
proportion, the current of blood becomes dammed up
in other words, a congestion takes place, giving pain to
a greater or less extent Here, then, is the begioniu.
of diseased action, which, if not relieved, will aoon rim
into inflammation, and thediaease becomes established
Diseased action being once established, the blood be
comes impure, and the regularity of action on the pan
i of the Liver, Skin, Bowels, A, , is sure to be interrupt
: ed. aud the general system, by sympathising with the
’ local complaint, becomes involved in the difficulty, Ttm
: this is the true state of the case, let unv one call to mini
his symptoms on catching cold.
i be a sore throat, which is a congestion of the Wool
; amounting (sometimes) to an inflammation about the
! throat, owing to a previous deranged state ofthsci:
. dilation, and he will remember that his bowels b«co®
i costive, his liver deranged, or his skin dry, and his Moot
impure. Had he used Radway’s Ready Relief when tbs
i congestion was netting in,as an application to the throst
. and ? wallowed a dose of the Regul itors, he would but
: brokeu up the congestion, aud restored the regularity
on the part ol the liver, akin, bowels, Ac., which hai
been brokeu in upon by the effects of the sore throw
Regularity being again established, the impure blood;,
1 soon purified, aud the circulation agaiu equal lied, au:
the health restored.
