GRANGERS’ MAGIC CORN AND COB
AND MEAL MILL,
Patented September 18, 1855.
Girurdey, Wlojtc d• Co., Sole Agent*, Augusta, Ga.
g IMPRESSED with the entire superiority of
M this celebrated Mill, over all others for like
purposes, we feel justified in presenting it to the
public, as being all that can he consistently de
sired.
i Possessed of all the advantages which are so
; palpably secured by the inner cone instead of the
outer, being a fixture, while the outer cone, (or
shell) revolves; of being regulated in its feed by
j a single nut; of utter simplicity and accurate cou
| »truction, these Mills present yet another, and a
nv>»t in ralualiU feature, to which public attention
is especially in riled —and which we believe renders
it totally superior to any Mill extant—to-wit: the 1
i rollers, t which are adjustable, and the principle
claim under the Patent) employed on the periphery
of the revolving or outer coue, at its base. j
These rollers < interdicted in other machines) !
| when once adjusted serve to keep the cones, under j
| all circumstances, equi-distant on every side (no j
; matter how often the change of feed j, and utterly j
; prevent the oscilating, or rocking motion other- j
| wise incident to the revolving cone, and insepara
i hie from the moving cones of othei Mills.
As among the incalculable advantages of this
| arrangement, we suggest that there can be no j
i crowding of the feed on any one side of the Mill
more than another, which in other Mills often
j brings in actual contort the sides of the Mill oppo- !
: site to that excessively crowded, while it unnicas
i urablv increases the resistance to the moving j
j power. Again, while the yield is of more uniform
j consistency, the cones may be brought almost to- j
gelher, without danger of actual contact when in I
i operation—( the result oftentimes of the rocking, j
j or vibratory motion in other Mills,) as the rollers
i serve to preserve, under all circumstances, the re- ;
! lativc distance of the cones from each other. Thus
| the very finest material may be ground without ;
i the danger of actual contact between the cones; I
j without the wear and tear incident to this contact; 1
i and without the increased and irregular resistance j
■ caused by this contact—advantages which every !
| reflecting mind will agree, cannot he over estima- |
| ]ed, aud which stamp this Mill incomparably th* !
I 'set known .' Specimens of the grinding of this i
; Mill maybe seen, of meal, shelled oats "and rye, 1
which cannot be surpassed by the best Burr i
i Stones. A a recent public experiment, a single
| horse ground at the rate of fifteen bushels ot ma
terial from shelled coni, to the hour, of which
more than one-fourth was meal, passed through a
No. Is sieve—the balance honiinv and stock
feed in equal parts. A small pony worked with
au s' ~ foot lever, a No. 2 Mill, grinding eight to
ten bushels to the hour, without difficulty. The
corn and cob ground together, exhibited beautiful
specimens of stock feed, which every true econo
mist should employ, even where there arc hut
three or four animals to supply.
The capacity of the Magic depends, in a measure,
on the kind and on the quality of the material !
ground.
No. 1, (designed more especially for family use,
or very small farms,) will grind from three to five
bushels per hour. No. from five to ten bushels.
No. 3, from ten to fifteen bushels.
The public, (within the territory of the under- j
signed.) will be supplied through* Agents, at the ;
different principal towns within our limits, at the i
following uniform scale of prices;
For No. 1 $45 00 I
For No. 2 55 im)

411 NIC A LINIMENT, FOR lllltNS,
. Ate.—A supply ol this very desirable article,
(which should be kept it every family) ready for

been burnt severely my elf with Burning Fluid, 7
tried every remedy proposed by my friends, but
found, from experience, they were no'go. On using
the Arnica Liniment, as per directions, it afforded
immediate relief. 1 therefore can speak from ex
perience. This invaluable oleaginous Linament
acts like magi'-, in t emm ing the most acute pain,
by Burns, and seldom requires more than two or i
three application., to relieve and cure those of a !
severe character, either from Burning Fluid, Cam- i

MELL’S PATENT PLOW STOCK!
r|AHE undersigned has invented and patented
H a most valuable improvement in the PLOW
STOCK the county rights for which he desires to *
sell. He prefers to let other.- speak its praise, and *
therefore introduces the following certificates, from \
two planters, well and favorably- known in the j
community in which they reside’. He might in-!
troduce many others, but tlic Plow Stock will j
speak for itself w henever examined.
JAMES li. MELL.
Riceboro’, Liberty county, Ga,
This is to certify that 1 have, with my own hands,
1 thoroughly tested the newly invented Plow Slock
iof James B. Mell, Esq. In point of simplicity-and
I perfection, I have nevet seen or used its equal. In
! it is combined every tiling that I could wish in a
j Flow Stock, and it, in my opinion, is the cheapest ,
and the best that has ever been offered to the pub- i
! lie. I speak from having used it with my own i
I hands. I was raised to follow the plow, and think !
that 1 know how one ought to run. 1 would cheer- '
i fully thank any one, who will thoroughly try it, to !
* point out to me one single fault in it. jt is’ easier I
upon the horse and the plowman than am that I
have ever used.
The principle upon which you regulate the depth i
of the Plow is so simple, and yet so perfect, as to i
commend itself to any one ; ami the Stock is adapt- |
ed to any kind of Plow Hoe. It is, moreover, just j
as light as any could desire it to be. I would re !
commend to any and all, if they wish the best anil i
cheapest Plow Stock, without hesitation to get Mr. i
James B. Mell’s. 1). \V. Wilson, j
Pentield, Ga., April 15, ISSO.
In company with several others, 1, this dav, wit
' nessed the trial of Mr. James B. Mell’s Plow Stock,
! by Mr. I). W. Wilson, and cheerfully state that ali
I present were fully satisfied that it does everything
ias stilted above. I would, moreover, state that I
have been using them on my farm for several
months, and every day serves to caution me in the
opinion of the superiority of Mr Moll's Plow Stock
to all others now ip. use, Thomas P. Janes,
