fgIHE undersigned having permanently located

<-t their friends and the public generally. From \
several years’ experience in teaching, and a con
stant attention to the duties of their profession, ;
they flatter themselves that the system of instruc- !
lion which they are now prepared" to give Students i
pursuing a regular classical course, cannot be sur
passed by any similar Institution in tlie State. To .
parents, therefore, designing to give their sons a
( ollegiate educate.n, their services are especially
tendered, since a thorough acquaintance with the
preparatory studies is indispensable to the Stu
dent’s progr- s- throughout his whole course. Their
Academy Pupils w ill be prepared to enter the high
er classes of College, or if preferred, thoroughly
instructed in a more practical and business course.
The accessibility, health and quietness of their
location it. ioedoin front scenes and causes of

of that libe. patronage, which for many years
they hare v failed to secure.
A strict regard w ill be paid to moral training,

observed.

GRANGERS’ MAGIC CORN AND COB
AND MEAL MILL,
Patented September 18, 1855.
■ Grrardey, Whifte d- Ova, Sole Agent*, Augusta, Ga.
IMPRESSED with the entire superiority of
thi> celebrated Mill, over all others for like
purposes, we feel justified in presenting ti to the
public, as being ail that can he consistently de-
I sired.
Possessed of all the advantages which are so
t palpably secured by the inner cone instead of the
J outer, being a fixture, while the outer cone, (or
i shelli revolves; of being regulated in its feed by
j a ninale nut; of utter simplicity and accurate coii
. struction, these Mills present yet another, and a
j most invaluable feature , to which public attention
| is especially invited —and which we believe renders
j it totally superior to any Mill extant —to-wit: the
rollers, which are adjustable, and the principle
i claim under the Patent) employed on the periphery
, of the revolving or outer cone, at its base.
These rollers interdicted in other machines)
i when once adjusted serve to keep the cones, under
; all circumstances, equi-distant on every side (no
| matter how often the change of feed), and utterly
prevent the oscilating, or rocking motion other
i wise incident to the revolving cone, and insepara
ble from the moving cones of other Mills.
As among the incalculable advantages of this
arrangement, we suggest that there can be no
| crowding of the feed on any one side of the Mill
more than another, which in other Mills often
[ brings in actual contact the sides of tlie Mill oppo
| site to that excessively crowded, while it unmeas- ;
! urahly increases the resistance to the moving
j power. Again, while the yield is ofmore uniform
j consistency, the cones may be brought almost to- \
i getlier, without danger of actual contact when in
| operation—(the result oftentimes of the rocking,
i or vibratory motion iu other Mills,) as the rollers
j serve to preserve, under all circumstances, the re- I
I.itive distance ofthe cones from each other. Thus I
: the very finest material may he ground without
! the danger of actual contact between the cones; ;
: without the wear and tear incident to this contact; j
i .md without the increased and irregular resistance ‘
I caused by this contact —advantages which every ;
reflecting mind will agree, cannot be over estima- i
r -d, and which stamp this Mill incomparably the j
■W hwn-n ! Specimens of the grinding of this j
Mill may be seen, of meal, shelled oats and rye, j
which cannot be surpassed by the best Bun-
Stones. A a recent public experiment, a single |
horse ground at the rate of fifteen bushels of nta- )
terial from shelled corn, to the hour, of which i
more than one-fourth was meal, passed through a i
No. 13 sieve—the balance hominy and stock !
feed in equal parts. A small pony worked with ;
an s ! .f foot lever, a No. 2 Mill, grinding eight to j
ten bushels to the hour, without difficulty. The j
corn and cob ground together, exhibited beautiful j
specimens of stock feed, which every true econo- ’
mist should employ, even where there arc but j
three or four animals to supply.
The capacity of the Magic depends, in a measure, i
on the kind and on the quality of the material
ground.
No. 1, (designed more especially for family use, !
or very small farms, t will grind from three to five
bushels per hour. N'o. 2, from five to ten bushels. ;
No. ", front ten to fifteen bushels.
The public, (within the territory of the under- j
signed, i will be supplied through Agents, at the j
different principal towns within our limits, at the ;
following uniform scale' of prices:
For No. 1 345 00 ;
For No. 2 55 00
For No. 05 00
