GRANGERS’ MAGIC CORN AND COB AND MEAL MILL, Patented September IS, 1855. I O'tf’trJta, Whiffl’d’ Co., Sole Agents, Augusta, tin. IMPRESSED with the entire superiority of . this celebrated Mill, over all others for like i purposes, we feel justified in presenting it to the | public, as being all that can be consistently de sired. Possessed of all the advantages which are so ! palpably secured by the inner cone instead of the : outer, being a fixture, while the outer cone, (or hell revolves; of being regulated in its feed by a sing! e nut; of utter simplicity and accurate coii ! -traction, these Mills present vet another, and a j nw*t invaluable feature, to which public attention I is especially invited —and which we believe renders it totally superior to any Mill extant —to-wit: the rollers, i which are adjustable, and the principle claim under the Patent) employed on the periphery of the revolving or outer cone, at its base. ! These rollers i interdicted in other machines) | when once ad justed serve to keep the cones, under ' all circumstances, equi distant on every side (no | matter how often the change of feed), and utterly prevent the oscilating, or rocking motion other -1 wise incident to the revolving cone, and insepara ■ bio from the moving cones of other Mills. As among the incalculable advantages of Ibis | arrangement, we suggest that there can be no crowding of the feed on any one side of the Mill ' more than another, which in other Mills often ; brings iu actual contact the sides of the Mill oppo j site to that excessively crowded, while it mimeus ' urablv increases the resistance to the moving ' power. Again, while the yield is of more uniform j consistency, the cones may be brought almost to ; get her, without danger of actual contact when in ! operation (the result oftentimes of the rocking, I or vibratory motion in other Mills,) as the rollers j serve to preserve, under all circumstances, the re- j t lutive distance ofthe cones from each other. Thus I I the very finest material may he ground without ! ! ihe danger of actual contact between the cones; i j without the wear and tear incident to this contact; j I and without the increased and irregular resistance j j caused by this contact advantages which every , ! reflecting minil w ill agree, cannot be over estiniu- j j ied, and which stamp this Mill incomparably the ! ■e-t hi own ’ Specimens of the grinding of this I Mill may be seen, of meal, shelled oats and rye, j which cannot be surpassed by the best Burr stones. A a recent public experiment, a single horse ground at the rate ot fifteen bushels of ma terial from shelled corn, to the hour, of which more than one fourth was meal, passed through u No. 18 sieve- the balance hominy and stock feed in equal parts. A small pony worked with an SUj foot lever, a No. 2 Mill, grinding eight to ten bushels to the hour, without difficulty. The corn and cob ground together, exhibited beautiful specimens of stock feed, which every true econo mist should employ, even where there are bid three or four animals to supply. The capacity ofthe Magic depends, in a measure, on the kind and on the quality of the material ground. No. 1, (designed more especially for family use, or very small farms,) will grind from three to live bushels per hour. No. 2, from live to ten bushels, j No. .’>, from ten to fifteen bushels. The public, (ivitbin the territory of the under- | j signed,) will be supplied through Agents, at the j different principal towns within our limits, at the 1 following uniform scale of juices; For No. 1 »'45 O'* ! 'll II E utulersi gued has invented and patented j ■ a most valuable improvement in the PLOW STOCK the county rights for which be desires to sell. He prefers to let others speak its praise, and therefore introduces the following certificates, from two planters, well and favorably known iu the community in which they reside, lie might in troduce many others, bit! the Plow Stock will speak for itself whenever examined. JAMES B. MULL, i Kiceboro’, Liberty county, Ga. This is to certify that 1 have, with mv own hands, i thoroughly tested the newly invented Plow Stoek j of James B. Mell, Esq. In point of simplicity and j perfection, 1 have never seen or tis.-d its equal. In | it is combined every thing that I could wish in a j Plow Stock, and it, in my opinion, is the cheapest j and tlie best that has ever been offered to the pub- ' lie. 1 speak front having used it with mv own | hands. 1 was raised to follow the plow, and think i that I know how one ought to run. I would cheer- i fully thank any one, who will thoroughly try it, to I point out to me one single fault in it. It i. easier i upon the horse, and the plowman than any that 1 ; have ever used. The principle upon which vou regulate the depth of the Plow is so simple, and yet so perfect, as to commend itself to any one; and the Stock is adapt ed to any kind of Plow Hoe. It is, moreover, just as light as any could desire it to be. 1 would re commend to any and all, if they wish the best and cheapest Plow Stock, without hesitation to get Mr. James B. Moll’s. 1). W. Wilson. Penfietd, Ga., April 15, 185a. In company with several others, 1, this duv, wit- i nessed the trial of Mr. James B. Mell’s Plow Stock, | by Mr. 1). W. Wilson, and cheerfully state that till j present were fully satisfied that it does everything \ ns stated above. I would, moreover, state that ! have been using them on mv farm for several months, and every dav serves to confirm me in the opinion of tlie superiority of Mr. Mell’s Plow Stock to all others now in use.
