IMPRESSED with the entire superiority of this celebrated Mill, over all others for like purposes, we feel justified iu presenting it to the i public, as being all that can be consistently de ; isired. Possessed of all the advantages which are so j palpably secured by the inner cone instead of the outer, being a fixture, while the outer cone, (or shell) revolves; of being regulated rn its feed by 1 a single nut; of utter simplicity and accurate con ‘ structlon, these Mills present yet another, and a most Inealuahlr batui e, to which public attention , is especially in riled- -and which we believe renders it totally superior to any Mill extant —to-vnt : the rollers, which are adjustable, and the principle claim under the Patent employed on the periphery of the revolving or outer cone, at its base. These rollers (interdicted in other machines) when once adjusted serve to keep the cones, under all circumstances, equi-distant on every side (no ! matter how often the change of feed), and utterly ■ prevent the oscilating, or rocking motion other t wise incident to the revolving cone, and insepata ble from the moving colics 1 0 other Mills. As among the incalculable advantages of this arrangement, we suggest that there can be no f crowding of the feed Vn any one side of the Mill 1 more than another, which in other Mills often brings in actual contact the sides ot the Mill oppo -im to that excessively crowded, while it immeas • urahlv increases the resistance to the moving I power. Again, while the yield is of more uniform i consistency, the cones muv he brought almost to j aether, without danger of actual contact when in i j operation the remtlt oftentimes of the rocking, or vibratory motion iu other Mills,) as the rollers i ! serve to preserve, under all circumstances, the re- : lafive distance ofthe cones frou; each other. Thus ! the very iitiest material may be ground without ; I the danger oi actual contact between the cones; without the wear and tear incident to this contact, | and without the increased and irregular resistance I ; caused by this contact advantage* which every reflecting mind will agree, cannot he oyer estimu- 1 ; ted, and which stamp this Mill incomparably the j '» s' L-tihir., Specimens of the grinding of this j Mill may be ween, of meal, shelled oats and rve, ! which cannot b« wurpassed by the best Burr j ’ Stones. A a recent public experiment, a single J horse ground at the rate of fiitoeu bushels ot ma terial from shelled coru. to the hour, of which j more than one-fourth was meal, passed through a Vo. IS sieve—the balance liominv and stock feed in equal parts. A small pony worked with I jan s l -.; f,.„t lever, a No. 2 Mill, grinding eight to | ten bushels j,i hour, without difficulty. The ! corn and cob ground together, exhibited beautiful j specimens ot stock feed, which every true econo mist should emplov, even where there ate but i three or four animals to supply. The capacity of the Magic depends, in a measure, j i on the kind amt im tjie quality of the material ; ground. No. 1, ( designed more especially tor family use, j or very small farms,) will grind from Ihree h, five bushels per hour. No. g, from live to ten bushels. No. 3. from ten to fifteen bushels.
