GUTT^UNTO,
FROM THE SOUTH PACIFIC OCEAN,
IMPORTED BY THE
AMERICAN GUANO CO.. N. Y.
THIS GUANO, far Superior to any other Fertilizer known,
and of Permanent Value to the Soil, is sold at THIRTY
PER CENT LESS than Peruvian Guano. Its peculiar na
tural combination of the Phosphates and Sulphates of Lime,
enables it to restore to the soil the properties lost by oojstant
cropping, and the Planter will be enabled not merely to reap
from its use a present Crop, but find his land at the end of the
season, healthier and stronger, requiring a less amount of Gu
ano for the next planting.
This Guano feeds, but dots not stimulate to excess, the
roots of plants, and they are thereby enabled to withstand the
effects of drouth to a greater degree than by theSuse of any
other Fertilizer known. The uuivi rsal objection to the use
of Peruvian Guano, from Its fatal results during a dry season,
U obviated by the use of the American Guano.
The application of this Guano, 75 to 100 pounds per acre,
will Insure wonderful crops of Cotton, Corn, Wheat, Rye, To
bacco, Vegetables, &c.

BALM OF SAVANNAH.
FOB CLEANSING, NOURISHING AND BEAU
TIFYING THE HAIR.
IN presenting the BALM OF SAVANNAH to the public
the proprietor does so without any ofthe hesitation attending
the Introduction of a new and untried article, for it has now
been fifteen years before the public, and each year has added
to It* popularity. The demand for it having increased so far
beyond my previous facilities for its manufacture, the proprie
tor has recently completed arrangements for producing it on a
more extensive scale, and at the same time, adding to Its form
er excellence, by the result of a long practical experience In
its use.
The following vouchers are well known, and can be attested •
SAVAjfN vh, August 3,1868
Mb. J. M. Hatwood, Aoent : I ch.etiuily comply with my
promise, to give you my opinion of ue mints of your Balm of
Savannah, After using it for some two years, lam prepared to
speak from experience, and do not hesitate to pronounce it the
beet preparation for the hail that x have ever used. For sev
eral years I had suffered from dandruff, which, at times.*
especially during bad health, threatened to destroy my hair
I tried many remedies wmch had been recommended to me’
without benefit, untill I made a trial of vour Balm which not
only removed the dandruff, but kept my head free from It at
thesame time stimulating the growth of the hair, and imnart
ing to It a healthy appearance. I have recommended It to mv
friends, similarly afflicted, who, in every instance, exoer
enced similar benefits from Its use. I esteem It a pleasant and
eonveoent article for dressing the hair, possessing most ofthe
virtues claimed for the popular cosmetics of the day, with
none of their deleterious qualities. 1 feel confident that it onlv
needs to be known to the public to become universally norm
lar. Very Respectfully Yours. F *
