IN THE HOrsE
During the twenty minutes consumed in
reading the Journal of the House, this
morning, the vacant seats on the door were
mostly filled, the members bearing on their

THE FIRST BUSINESS
of the morning was a motion by the mem

the House on Monday .(on a bill to provide
for the protection of the people against the
fraudulent issue of State bonds.
Mr. Hudson called the previous question,

that he would rot be cut off at so early a
moment. He wanted the gentleman from
Schley to withdraw the motion ; but the
gentleman from Schiev would nt do any

wantonly nipped in the bud, and the mo

notwithstanding his bad taste and pralic

occasion tolly ventilated the subject. The
result of the discussion was a motion from
a member from Cobb to lay the whole mat

asked for a -aspen si on of the rules for

some amendments, was finally passed.
Mr. Jackson also brought forward for
final action a bill to increase the Education

An earnest and interesting debate fol
